Weekend Re-Cap

Well. I just got finished celebrating Canada's Gold in Men's Ice Hockey by pooping all over the place. It required an outfit change for ME, and MOM. Dad? Well...he managed to escape somehow. Lucky guy. Maybe he won't get so lucky NEXT time. Sigh. It was a great game though! After all. Canada DOES have a hockey scene printed on their currency.

On Thursday night, my buddy Gavin and Gavin's Mom came over to the house for dinner. Gavin and I go to the same daycare and we are about a week apart in age. I was sleeping the entire time (surprise), but I heard them having a nice time visiting (-:

On Friday night, we celebrated Cortland's 3rd Birthday with him at Red Robin. I slept the entire time (surprise, again). So, I pretty much missed the entire party. Cortland had a great time and got tons of presents! Lucky fella! There sure are a bunch of Birthday's this time of year!

Yesterday, we drove up to Littleton with Auntie Karissa to a surprise Birthday Party for our good friend Jen. And yes...she was TOTALLY caught off-guard and TOTALLY confused and TOTALLY surprised. Success!! I decided to join the party for a good portion of the evening! Yay for actually being awake past 6:00 PM! I even sat in a restaurant high-chair for my first time!

Today, Dad let Mom sleep in for a little while...then we went out to lunch, and have just been hanging out watching the hockey game of the decade. Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Today is a special day! My good buddy, Cortland...was born on this day 3 years ago. Cortland has been through quite a lot in the past 3 years, and let me tell you...he is a trooper! He grows stronger and stronger each day, and is turning into quite the little man.

Just A Cold...

Which is good news! We went to see Dr. Reich yesterday morning, and the nurse heard my cough and said "Oooh. That does not sound like Croup Cough. We are going to go ahead and test for Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV)." So, Nurse Sue decided to check my oxygen levels and my temperature...and both were just fine. But, that wasn't enough. Nope. She decided to stick this swab clear up my nose to test for RSV, and let's just say that we were NOT friends after that! Well. The test came back Negative. Phew! So, Dr. Reich said that my annoying cough is probably just a cold.
"Yay! No RSV!"

"Can we go home now? PLEASE."

"I'm tired and ready to get OUTTA HERE."

I had another rough night last night. I was up every couple hours wanting to nurse. Mom also ALWAYS gives in. I make up for it in the morning when I smile and giggle at her. She forgives me!

We just took things easy yesterday. Mom did some Birthday shopping and we watched the US Men's Olympic Ice Hockey Team BEAT Canada in the evening. TAKE THAT, CANADA!!! Hahahahah!

Late last night, I decided to kick off the Birthday celebration early. I was up almost all night! Mom and Dad were so tired this morning that they decided to set the alarm clock outside in the freezin snow when it went off at 5:30 AM. There was NO WAY that they were going to be able to function today...so they decided to sleep in a little bit.

Tonight Grandma and Grandpa are coming over to watch me while I sleep, so that Mom and Dad can go eat dinner at The Loop in Manitou Springs, CO. Dad has been talking about their queso dip for weeks now! He has a BAD hankerin' for some chips and dip!

I have a doctor's appointment scheduled for tomorrow morning. Turns out I still have my cough, and they want to check me out.

I Have a NEW Cousin!!

Katja (Caught-Cha) Ray Knowles was born 2/16/2010 at 5:40 PM. She weighed 7 lbs 9 ounces (my SAME birth weight), and is 19" long. I can't wait to play with her and meet her in May. Crazy story: My Aunt Lynda and Uncle JJ were checking into the hospital yesterday for their scheduled C-Section, and Aunt Lynda's water broke! So...it looks like Baby Katja was going to have a Birthday of 2/16/2010 REGARDLESS. Too neat! Here are some pictures of her taken from a cell phone:

While Aunt Lynda was having a baby last night...we went over to Auntie Amber's for TURNER TACO TUESDAY!! Turner Taco Tuesday has become so popular that Auntie Amber decided to make an apron designed just for this very special (and tasty) event:

In other news...
I have a cold )-: Yep. That's right. My 2nd cold of the year. It started off as just a cough on Sunday night...sort of just came out of nowhere. Now, I also have a stuffy nose and my voice is very "horse" sounding. Mom called the doc and the nurse told her to watch and see if my symptoms get worse to where I'm having a difficult time breathing, but other than that...there really isn't much we can do besides wait and let the cold virus run it's course. I'm still in really good spirits though!

The Next Generation

"Man. Can you believe that the Women's National Ice Hockey Team beat up on China 12-1 in their first game yesterday? That is AWESOME."

"I wonder how they are going to stand up against Canada. I mean...Canada is favored to win...but if the United States can pull it off...it would be our second Gold Medal in Women's Ice Hockey!"

"Well. Hopefully USA makes it to the Gold Medal game against Canada. If they do make it that far...I'm sure that would be quite the game to watch."

Happy Valentines Day! The Daytona 500 is on at our house today...so not much love is taking place...other than the love between Dad and Jeff Gordon! Hahahah!

I received my very first homemade Valentine's card on Friday from Ms. Kim, Ms. Erin and Ms. Diwayne:

Mom received a bouquet of fruit and chocolate covered strawberries and apples from Dad yesterday delivered to the house. Funny thing is, Mom had some chocolate covered strawberries delivered to Dad at work on Friday! Needless to say...there is enough chocolate covered fruit around here to kill a small horse. Nothing wrong with that!


I got an activity jumper yesterday! My feet don't quite touch the ground yet...but I will grow into it in no time. It also has a mirror so that I can look at my face and a piano that plays music:




It seems that we are running out of floor space with all of my baby toys. Our living room looks like a jungle gym! This is one of the reasons Mom and Dad went to look at the model home that they fell in love with over 2 years ago yesterday. They are *thinking* about trying to put our house on the market this Spring. We could really use some more room.

Last night, Mom and Dad went to Panino's for dinner while I napped in my carseat. Panino's is a Valentine's tradition that they have carried on for 5 years now! They are sooo yummy:

Today we are just taking it easy. Mom and I are going to meet Auntie Karissa for coffee later. It is a perfect day for coffee. It is REALLY cold outside and we are expecting some snow. Speaking of snow...I guess my family in Dallas got hammered with snow last week! We looked at the pictures and could not believe our eyes!
