Winter Has Arrived!

BURRRRRR. We have had a ridicously COLD past week. Especially for THIS time of year. Last week, we had a high temperature of 5! We are pretty excited to see temps this week in the 30's and 40's.

Devin Update: She started the 2nd half of her 2nd round on Thursday. Per both halves of her first round, and the first half of her 2nd round...she did about the same...terrible. She has a lot of pain and issues with chest pressure, and they decided to go ahead and admit her Saturday afternoon for 48 hours of antibiotics after she started to run a fever. Chemo is kicking her butt, and we are all VERY hopeful that it means it is killing her Cancer. Mom grabbed these pictures of her over the past few days. She still keeps a smile on her face and remains very positive through the hell she is going through. What a trooper.
Getting ready to start the 2nd half of Round 2:

They decorated for Christmas, so Devin wanted a picture in front of one of many Ronald McDonald House Christmas Trees:

We had a pretty typical week. Alex has the daycare "kennel cough" but it seems to be getting better. We had a lot of indoor-time.

Mom had to get her hair professional fixed after getting a little too brave!

Nanny sporting the purple for Devin:

On Saturday, little Cooper came over to hang out with Alex, Ms. Lyssa and I. The adults had their "Fakesgiving" event over at the Andrews Casa. They had a great time eating wonderful food and telling stories. The kids had a fun time eating pizza and playing with Ms. Lyssa.
On Sunday morning...Alex and I needed OUT of the house! So Mom loaded us up with all of our snow gear, and we had fun scraping the snow off the patio and throwing snow balls. I *might* have pegged Alex in the face with one. Ooops!

We make up pretty quickly! Alex tries to give me kisses and hugs all the time. I will say, "Stop trying to marry me!!" LOL

Obligatory hot chocolate was waiting for us when we were done playing in the snow:

We finally got out of our PJ's around 3:00 PM, and went to AFW to check out some furniture. We have had the same couches for about 9.5 years...and it is TIME to replace them! We might have settled on a new set

And then we went to Hacienda for dinner! Alex and I were extremely well-behaved.

The week ahead is a busy one, and we are preparing for our trip to Dallas on Saturday afternoon. We will return on Thanksgiving evening, and are attending Devin's Barrel Race Benefit this Sunday.

Weekly Update

Devin Update! Devin started her 2nd round of Chemo last week. She was admitted to the hospital on Thursday night, and was able to go home yesterday. The first night was pretty rough, but she bounced back pretty quickly. Dad is scheduled to fly out for Devin's PET scan and 3rd round of chemo taking place on December 3rd. The PET scan will show how well she is responding to the chemo, and we are all anxious to see the results.

We had a pretty normal week! Made a trip to Bed, Bath, and Beyond...and Alex modeled this gem. That is quite the long braid you have there...Alex!

We decided to make cupcakes on Thursday! Alex wanted nothing to do with the baking because...well, there was a mixer involved. She didn't hesitate to help lick the frosting though!

Oh! And I got a "Fart Blaster" gun...and let's just say nobody can seem to put it down. Mom thinks it is getting pretty old...but Alex and I LOVE It!

The cupcakes were FANTASTIC...in case you were wondering how they turned out!

Grandma and Grandpa celebrated their 39th wedding Anniversary on Friday! AND we celebrated Mom's Birthday at Freddy's. Hey! It is where SHE wanted they wanted to go! I know...FANCY. (-:

Grandma and Grandpa are currently in Iowa attending the auction for the family farm!

On Saturday morning...Mom decided to cancel her morning workout, and we all packed up for what turned out to be a fairly nice day at the North Pole! We figured we better get in our last trip..or one of our last trips before the park closes on Christmas Eve. We had a great time, and it was super busy. We didn't get to chat with Santa this round, but I know we will see him again before the big day.

After the North Pole, we stopped at a new little brewery in Mantiou Springs! We had some yummy snacks, and Alex and I had Root Beer! Yum.

We had a pretty fun Saturday!

On Sunday...we took it easy around the house all morning. Alex's tummy has been a bit upset. But, she is eating normal and acting normal...so we are just keeping an eye one her. On Sunday afternoon, we went to Gwyns' 3rd Birthday party at their home. We got to put on the cutest little chef hats and aprons, and make little individual pizzas!

We had a fun time!

Birthday Girl, Gwyn!

Alex Selfie!

We had a wonderful Sunday evening. Nothing major planned for this week...other than our first REAL dose of Winter Weather moving in tonight! Mom has decided she is no longer a fan of the cold! Booo!

Halloween 2014

This week we got into the Halloween spirit by carving our pumpkins. I wanted nothing to do with it, really. So not much has changed from years past. But Alex? Oh. SHE LOVED THE SLOPPY MESS. She wasn't sure at first but once she decided it was okay? She was ALL IN.
Hmmmm. Not to sure:

Just don't ask me to touch any pumpkin guts, okay?

Daddy takes his carving very seriously.

Cheesin for Mommy:

Oh yeah...here she goes...

Mom decided pretty quickly that she better strip off her dress!

She was totally content playing in the pumpkin slop for as long as we would let her! I was already off watching a show. "Have fun with that! I'm outta here."

Finished pumpkins. We did a cancer ribbon for Devin. She loved it.

On Friday afternoon Alex and I had our Halloween parties at school, and then the daycare did a parade. I led the parade line!

Alex enjoying her party treats! We ended up not coming to Mom and Dad's work for the Trick-or-Treating in the halls. But we still had a great time doing the school thing!

After pizza, we got all bundled up and ready to go Trick-Or-Treating in our neighborhood. It was rather chilly, so we lasted about an hour!

Alex did a pretty good job, other than she wanted to be carried up to everyone's door step. Mom tried explaining to her that is cheating!

We both made out VERY well and have enough Halloween Candy to last until March! Funny story, as we were wrapping up our evening...we decided to stop at our next door neighbors house as they had told us to come by before we were done. They invited in to see their newly finished basement. Mom had handed Alex off to Daddy, and not 5 minutes later...she started to pee all over DAD, and all over the Cross' brand new carpet! That turkey!

Grandma and Grandpa stopped by to see us in our costumes and look over all the candy we earned.

We had a very nice Halloween.

On Saturday afternoon, Ms. Stephanie came over to hang with Alex and I while Mom and Dad met some friends for an adult afternoon at the All Colorado Beer Festival. They had a great time.
Mom and Auntie K:

Mumsie sent us some pictures she took while visiting Devin this past weekend. She is feeling okay, and starts her 2nd round of chemo this Thursday.

We are getting ready for a very busy November. Lot's of Birthday celebrations, Thanksgiving celebrations, and a trip to Dallas to see everyone again. This month is going to fly.
