RMCA Dairy Queen night! The school raised over $180. I thought it would be more with how packed the DQ was. Going out for ice cream in winter is a special treat!

Little Sam turned one last week, so we celebrated with the Wilson Family on Saturday morning with brunch and...Cake!

Saturday afternoon was spent baking...and running to Target to get more baking goods after this major Smores Cookie Fail. Turns out marshmallows don't do so well in the oven. I followed the recipe EXACT. Hahahaha.

Doug would have been 32 on Sunday. I sure do miss him more and more these days. Especially when I think about all that JR and Alex are missing out on, not having such a great Uncle around. They enjoy looking at old pictures and asking questions about him.
On Sunday afternoon I went over to the West side to help Amber with our annual Cookie Bake. Amber's Mom...Shelly is passing the torch on to us! Amber hosted this year in her new house. We had a great showing! Lots of tasty cookies and I made an apple cider in the crock pot that was awesome (with or without the rum). (-:

On Monday morning we took the kids to breakfast before Alex's Dance Recital. JR was pretty happy about missing the first couple hours of school.
The girls were so cute...they were taking turns warming up:
And she was supposed to be a BOY! Hahah. Isn't she sweet?
She did a great job listening to the instructor and participating. Jeff and I were both very impressed. The instructor took me aside and told me that she thinks Alex is very coordinated and picks up on the dance moves quickly, and that we should keep in her dance as long as she is enjoying it!

Today is a snow day for JR! So he is spending the day with his old daycare buddies. Tomorrow he is going on a field trip. They are making Christmas cards and singing for some elderly folks. In the afternoon they are having a Christmas party. His last day for 2015 is on Thursday! Alex has her last speech appointment tomorrow. We are taking a 6 month break and will reevaluate next summer if we feel the need. She has been doing GREAT in therapy.
Jeff and I are taking two weeks off of work for Christmas. Sharon, Neil and Amanda arrive on the 23rd for Christmas. Jeff and I have some fun things planned including the Santa train with the kids on the 22nd (they have no idea--hoping to keep it a surprise). We are looking forward to our time off, and excited to see what 2016 brings!
