I captured a ton of pictures this week!
I forgot to snag pictures of the gingerbread house making that was completed last weekend. Remember one little house is missing thanks to JR's perfect aim of vomit. LOL
Thursday was JR's last day of school for the 2016 year. He got to have a fun day doing "Christmas Around the World." It included different crafts and treats from 6 different countries. Friday was Pajama day for Alex, and she let me curl her hair. All those years my mom told me how beautiful my long hair was and I never gave it half a thought. Now that I have a daughter with this? I can't fathom the idea of her wanting to chop it all off. Just beautiful!
On Friday afternoon the kindy class at daycare had a little Holiday program. We told JR that we wouldn't be able to attend. So, we decided to leave work early and surprise him. Boy was he surprised. He wasn't even looking at the parents entering the room as he had determined we were not coming. When I did catch his attention his face lit up and his smile was ear to ear. It was priceless! We enjoyed listening to his little group sing Christmas songs.
Friday evening I decided to pick up some mini trees for the kids, that would be brought to them by Eddie (our creepy elf).
They were both shocked Saturday morning to find the trees in their room!
Saturday morning we also got hit with some seriously cold temps and SNOW. And ICE. Which meant the roads were crap. We still managed to get to Rudy's 5th Annual Cookie Decorating event. It is one of our favorites and we wouldn't miss it for the world!

We got to enjoy a table with the Holiday family again this year! Cathy, Brian, and Connor!
Saturday evening, we went to the Wilson Christmas Party. I think this is our 4th year doing this event? Always a great time, also. The kids had their own gift exchange that did not include any stealing. The adults had one too! Lots of good food and friends.

We all had a great time. We are very fortunate to have such great groups of friends.
On Sunday we were unsure if our plans to go on the Royal Gorge Santa Express train were going to be cancelled or not. They were having some train issues due to the super cold temps, and had to cancel a couple of the departures. Luckily, ours was ON! However, the drive down was NOT fun as Highway 115 was packed with snow and ice. We made it though! And after some food and being able to shake off the stressful drive--we all had a great time.

And...we decided to splurge for the professional pics with Santa. I mean...they had matching Eddie PJ's on. How could we NOT?
The ride home took about 2 hours as we decided to avoid that nasty highway. JR had to do one of two cortisol tests at midnight. The endocrinologist at Children's Hospital wants to test him for Cushing's Disease. I'm VERY doubtful--but cooperating with her wishes to get the tests to the lab. We were all a bit tired this morning. Good thing we got to sleep in a bit!
Alex had her dance recital today, and since we had time--we grabbed breakfast at Egg and I beforehand.

This little ballerina somehow managed to put a HUGE hole in her tights during our 5 minute drive from our house, to breakfast.
Can you see it?? Oh, Alex. We couldn't love you any more!!

As I mentioned this is a short week for us--and then on to Christmas and the New Year. It has been a great year for us. Sucky for a lot of people--but great for us. Next year we are looking forward to Alex starting Kindergarten, and handing over a baby to go home with its family to Alabama! Until next year....!
