Well! We are back from another amazing trip to Play Del Carmen! We left yucky snow and sludge behind, so it was quite easy to hop on a plane. We had a great time, and the only drama was the wrong room the first night and JR managed to get a slight sunburn on his back and a little bit of sand in his cast. But other than that? Muy Bueno!
This was the week before leaving--our first real snow for the Fall/Winter. I'm not ready.
As we get ready to move to a new building at work, I took a picture of all the beautiful artwork that has lined my office for the past 9 years. It was sad to take it all down.
Alex made us all (including Moses) paper jewelry one evening. Had to get a selfie.
Right before we departed for Mexico, JR got a new waterproof cast put on. It stays wet for a long time, and it is much tighter than we thought. But, it works. Here is a picture of them sawing off the old cast.

Oh! JR had been working on a new project for Market Day at school. He decided to do a Lemonade Stand, and I thought it was one of the more difficult projects to pick considering many of his peers picked homemade crafts to sell. We had to go buy a lot of stuff, and make a lot of stuff--ice cubes with fresh fruit frozen in them, ice cube trays, cups to decorate, pitchers for the lemonade, lemonade mix, etc. But, at the end of the day his line was the longest and people were going crazy for his product. Kids were even getting in line twice! At one point he had to raise his price and drop the Buy 2 get one free deal. He sold out before the next class could even come shop. He got his little butt kicked as I was told not to jump in and help, as much as I wanted to. He did great!

Fast forward to the weekend, and we noticed a storm was moving in early Sunday morning when we had plans to drive to DIA to catch our flight. So, we drove up Saturday afternoon and shopped in Castle Rock, got a hotel, and went out to the coolest little market area by old Stapleton airport, it was called The Stanley Marketplace. It was an old hangar! We visited Denver Biscuit Company! It was amazing--and basically a heart attack on a plate. This was called "Dad's Iced Coffee." So we had to get it.
YUM. That was fried chicken with coleslaw and onion straws between two biscuits!~
We accidentally ordered two of these biscuit cinnamon rolls. I seriously had heart palpitations after eating some of this.
They had so many cool shops to explore, and neat places to eat and it was all inside. I can't wait to go back.

Oh--we sat on the plane for an hour before departing. First we were waiting for some folks, and then we had to de-ice. That's okay! We were happy!
MADE IT! OMG--we got in the LONGEST and WORST line EVER for immigration in Mexico. We were so far behind, that by the time we made it to our baggage claim, they had taken our bags to a different location that I had to hunt down. We stood there for over an hour as we watched people come and go in the line next to us in 20 mins. I was so mad out ourselves for not switching lines! But, we finally made a total of TWO hours later than we were supposed to arrive.
Jeff asked him to hold his beer for a second and I snagged this picture. Ha! Don't worry--he was really drinking an orange soda.
When we got all checked in, we found out that they had given us a crappy room that we did not order. There was nothing they could do about it our first night, but luckily Jonathan made everything good for us the next morning and we got an amazing room!
Ahh coi fish--we missed you guys!

Buffet breakfast--not as good as it was last year but it filled a void.
The kids remembered how to order some of their favorite drinks from the servers and the tenders at the pool bar. I took tons of pictures of us just hanging out around the various pools having a good time.
We only went to the beach ONE time. Alex wasn't a fan, JR got sand in his cast that was very hard to get out, and the ocean had tons of seaweed. So! We opted for the pool scene.
Still beautiful though.

This was a picture of the steps from our patio to the pool A true swim-up! It was soo nice. We were on a very quiet side that was also close to everything. Perfect spot!
We decided the room service breakfast was way better than the buffet. Easy and fast, too!
The kids loved hanging in the pool and were much more trustworthy with their swimming skills.

We checked out the Michael Jackson show afterward. You will see Jeff making his faces below as I was trying to sneak pictures of the two of them, who were sitting behind me. Ha!

On Thursday it started RAINING! Poo. That's okay--we had our swimming suits on and didn't let it ruin our fun.
These little guys were everywhere--much worse than last year. Coatimundi, or Coati! This was a baby that was a little to adventurous when he smelled my poolside cheeseburger!

JR just woke up so early that he was zonked!

Check them all out! They did the weirdest thing one afternoon and all gathered in this grassy area and were digging and searching and burying stuff. It was so cool to watch.

We had a super smooth travel day coming back. Everything was on time and smooth. I wasn't ready to return home, and I'm usually ready come day 4.
After unpacking and getting settled, we went to the grand opening of a brewery on our side of town. We know the husband and wife couple that opened up, so we met our friends Jamie, Kevin, and Rylee and decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather. They had a live band!
Sunday was just perfect! 70 degrees. So we decided to get out and enjoy the weather with a little mini golf.
She is almost as tan as the Indian. Ha!

We have a busy week ahead. Pat and Adrian are coming to visit this weekend. Parent/Teacher conferences tomorrow, make-up swimming lessons, and I'm now the Treasurer of the PTO. Yeah--that happened. Never a dull moment!
