Weekly Update

We had a fairly good week--minus a traumatizing end to it all with Alex's 4-Year Well Checkup. I'm still recovering! But slowly moving past it. (-;

JR's teacher, Ms. Francione sent out a BUNCH of pictures from his classroom that have been captured over the past 4 months.  What better place to share them?

We really enjoy Ms. Francione and JR is doing great.

On Friday, Alex had her 4 year check up. She did GREAT and cooperated without any hesitation.

Getting her blood pressure taken.

We knew she was due for some vaccinations.  If not this year--all of them NEXT year before she starts Kindergarten.  I had been mentally preparing myself for a few months now to get them all knocked out, but I felt super unsettled about it.  So, Jeff and I discussed it and we decided we would do two vaccinations during this visit, and two next year after she turns 5. Well. Dr. Reich didn't think that would be a good idea--and recommended we do an all or nothing deal.  Jeff was on board--so we decided to knock all FOUR out this visit.  We were able to prep her after the doctor left the room.  She didn't really understand until the nurse came back in with a tray full of needles and we attempted to pull down her pants.  Then she FREAKED.  And she SCREAMED.  And the first two went in super fast, and then the nurse had to stop and prep the next two and I completely panicked.  It was too late to quit--the nurse explained to me.  So Jeff and I held our completely hysterical screaming and crying baby while she took FOREVER to get the next two shots ready.  I was not a happy camper and was pretty shaken up the rest of the night.  So not cool, man.  We promised Alex she could pick out a little something at Target and pick where she wanted to eat dinner.
Clearly...she got over it pretty fast!

Mickey D's, of course!

Luckily she hasn't had any reactions...yet.  So we are happy they are all done with but man oh man was that something I would NOT want to do again.

On Saturday the weather was beautiful! So we got out for a bit and tested out the metal detector from Santa.

Guess what was buried in the sand box? Score!

And the detector drew in some lady-friends.  LOL

Saturday evening I got to meet Karissa, Carissa, and Amber for drinks and dinner in Old Colorado City.  We went to this awesome little Italian place and I was in love!  I can't way to go back.

Jeff took the kids to Jameson's Birthday party at Jumpin Jacks.  They had a blast.

These two...

Happy Birthday Jameson!

I took Moses for a run on Sunday and he sure was happy when we returned home.  He is sitting on my lap giving me lots of kisses.  You are welcome, Mosey!

Running errands during half-time while the Broncos game was on.  Too much weekend for Alex. Guess who is going to Super Bowl 50???  Go Broncos!!!

We had a fun time watching that very intense game. Phew!

This week the kids have dentist appointments!  And nothing planned for this weekend...which is totally weird!

Alex wanted to go to ITZ for her birthday dinner.  She was offered a trip in the ticket booth, but politely declined.  Guess who asked if he could go in her place?  Ha!

Watching carefully the collecting of the tickets:

"Enjoying" dinner at Itz (their food is very BLAH).  This was right after the birthday girl dumped her first plate of food all over the place.  LOL

She had a great time playing games:

Riding the race cars

After dinner grandma and grandpa came over to the house to open gifts and cards:

Thanks Knowles Family!

Got a new Barbie car and some new DVDs.  All kinds of good stuff!

A card from Nanny that was decorated...

Friday night hanging out at home and playing "babies."

JR putting the baby's feet in his mouth like a good future daddy (-:

Saturday afternoon we celebrated Alexa's 7th Birthday at Aerials Gymnastics.

Besties

3 person swing!  Pretty cool!

Happy 7th Birthday sweet Alexa!

Another set of besties

Sunday was little Rylee's birthday at City Rock.  Jeff had to go into work for a few hours so I took the kids.  They LOVED it. Very cool place located right downtown.

This one continues to surprise me every day.  Just coming more out of her shell ALL the time.

Of course JR just jumps right in there and owns the place

Go Alex Go!

Rylee!  JR and Alex were very clingy to each other not knowing any of the other kids.  At one time JR shouted at another little boy, "Watch out for my little sister! You are going to step on her!"  Just continues to amaze me.

My brave girl. Not to shy but gaining trust that she will have a good time!

Birthday kids watching the huge swing go by

The kids had a wonderful time.

We did some grocery shopping after the party and watched the Broncos win!  Alex has her 4-year check up on Friday afternoon.  I'm trying hard not to think about it to much, as I think we are going to go ahead and knock out ALL of her Kindergarten vaccinations.  I don't think we are going to tell her about it much beforehand so she doesn't worry and fret about it like I know she will.  Saturday is a birthday party for Jameson!  I'm looking forward to dinner with some of my dear friends.  Hope everyone has a great week.

Come on Spring!  I'm over this COLD weather.
