Weekly Update

Okay...not one of our better weeks. In fact, I had literally just got finished saying out loud to Jeff that "things are pretty great right now." Then, our washing machine pooped the bed. 12 hours after that another parent ran in to the front of my car when I was dropping off the kiddos last week. & Alex came down with a tummy bug. THANKFULLY, we are on track for a much better week. We have a new washing machine that is amazing, the car will be fixed and it could have been much worse, and Alex only missed one day of school and is back to 100%. We are good to go now.
Not too bad--but more of a PITA than anything.  Dealing with insurance companies and getting everything all sorted out. 

We did have movie night at the school Friday...the boys were not interested in attending.  So, Alex and I went up to the school for pizza and Toy Story 4. 
Saturday evening Izzy came over to hang out with the kiddos while we went to our annual Fakesgiving get-together with Logan and Andrea Andrews and friends.  Always delicious food, drink, and good company.  I did manage to snap a few pictures this year.

Sunday we didn't really do a whole lot. This week is busy busy busy as we getting ready to head to Dallas for Thanksgiving. 

Weekly Happenings

This week we had NO snow days! And some pretty decent Fall weather.  We celebrated at McDonald's with The Loomis Family for Gwyn's Birthday on Wednesday and Mom had her Birthday on Thursday. But! Since I ended up presenting at a District Board Meeting, we decided to celebrate  on Saturday night.
Friday evening we decided to do something CRAZY, and we went to check out the new Raising Cane's chicken finger place that had just opened not to far from the house.  We all really enjoyed the food and the service!


Saturday was spent doing yard work and this guy enjoyed being in the way.  Ha!



Saturday afternoon we sat outside with the neighbors and cheered on Phil as he was putting up Christmas lights on his house.


See? There is Phil.  We were taking bets on his life insurance policy pay-out.

As I mentioned, we celebrated Grandma's Birthday and Grandma and Grandpa's Anniversary at The Colorado Rib and Chop House. They kept screwing up so we got a lot of free food!  The kids meals came in these cool paper cars.

On Sunday we met up with a bunch of our friends for an early birthday celebration since we knew we would be out of town later in the month.  This was not my Bloody Mary, but it sure was pretty!

Halloween and Great Wolf Lodge

Some posts are feasts--and some posts are famine.  This post is a feast!  Lots of pictures and we have had a very busy week and weekend.
Winter hit--HARD.  We had not one but TWO snow days where school was cancelled last week.  Today was a beautiful 60 degrees.  Tis Colorado in the Fall! 
Monday we woke up to this--so we decided to take full advantage and get some pumpkin carving done. Even Jeff decided to stay home, and for good reason.   The roads were crap!


They try and do a lot of the icky work these days.






Alex agreed to carve and paint her pumpkin.  I think it turned out pretty good!




Oh and just for fun, I dug up these old pumpkin carving pictures from a few years back in the old house (where, ironically--we ended up spending Halloween night with our neighbors). 

I mean...LOL.

I also decided to bust out our huge coloring page I wanted to save for Christmas.  But? We needed something to do that didn't involve screens.


Kept JR occupied for a good 45 minutes, and Alex closer to an hour!  I call that a win.

Wednesday school was cancelled.  Thursday was Halloween, and thankfully that was right on schedule.  I decided to go and help out and watch the parade.

I picked the kids up early from school so that we could do our traditional Trick Or Treating at the office.   We had an entire new building full of offices handing out candy! It was A LOT!



One floor went all out with the decorations.  It was very cool!

Then, as I mentioned we went across the street to the old house for Halloween food and treats before hitting up a few houses in the neighborhood.  Always sort of weird!

Still...not a bad haul for one trip around the block!

See?  Ridiculous! We will have Halloween candy until next Halloween. 


On Saturday afternoon we met The Loomis family for a fun Birthday weekend at Great Wolf Lodge.  I believe this was our 4th trip since the opened 3 years ago.   We got the "Wolf Pass" which included all sorts of little things, like these bracelets Gwyn and Alex are showing off with their names on them.

We had a good time hanging out by the water slides and the pool while the kids played. Then, they would come by and sucker all of us adults in to going down the slides with them.  They were pretty fun!



Saturday night we did our birthday celebration for JR, Gavin, Larissa, and Gwyn.  Pizza and cake!





And that cake was AMAZING.  It had a delicious chocolate inside that had a wonderful "Mexican chocolate" type flavor.  The buttercream was perfectly sweet, and the blue frosting that looks like wax was white chocolate.

We had a great two days, and excused the kids from school on Monday and pretty much had Great Wolf Lodge to ourselves. 
Tuesday morning, Moses got some Great Wolf Lodge ears stuck on him.  Not sure he was a fan.


This week is another busy week.  We celebrate Grandma's Birthday and Grandma and Grandpa's Anniversary on Saturday, and some friends of ours are all getting together for a Brunch Crawl Sunday morning.
