Trip to Dallas, Thanksgiving, and Mom Turns 30!!

Wow! Have we got a lot of catching up to do, or what? Guess it has been awhile! Let's see...I'm going to try my best to re-cap the past week.
On Saturday, November 20th...Mom and Dad went out with a bunch of friends to celebrate before our trip to Dallas. I hung out with Ms. Kim, and had a great evening. Mom and Dad *were* going to stay the night at a hotel, but that was cancelled due to my cough. They still had a great time! Mom and Dad enjoying their night out:

On Sunday, we spent the day preparing for our trip. After getting their nails done, we dropped Molly and Moses off with Carissa Junior and Jason, and made sure everyone was situated. Moses was less than impressed with his pedicure:

Molly and Moses had a great time visiting with Junior and Jason, and they were on their best behavior all week. No issues at all, and Mom and Dad are so grateful that Junior and Jason took such great care of our furry family members while we were away.
Sunday evening was spent at Grandma and Grandpa's as we had an early celebration with dinner and Birthday Cake! Notice me clapping my hands in the 2nd picture? I was excited about the cake!:

They couldn't fit enough candles on the cake, so they knocked it out with one big one:

Dad took a picture of Mom as a baby and had this cake made for her. Too neat!:

On Monday, we loaded up the Pilot and headed for the airport. We were a little nervous about the security lines...but we had ZERO issues. Made it through in a breeze. I did pretty good on the airplane. I had no major meltdowns...so that was GOOD. I was all the entertainment Mom and Dad needed as I kept them super busy entertaining ME, and I may have ripped a page out of the SkyMall Magazine (shhhh...don't tell anyone) and I think I consumed my weight in Strawberry Yogurt Melts (my favorite). The minute our plane touched down on the ground, I fell asleep! I know...perfect timing, right??
Notice my sticker that the TSA folks gave me? Bottom right picture is me right after we landed sleeping in Dad's arms.

We arrived safe and sound in Dallas, and I decided to do a little showing off with my walking skills for my family that I had not seen since January:

I have been practicing more and more walking along the way...but my preferred method of transportation is still my side-winder crawl. It gets me where I need to be FAST.
On Tuesday, we got to visit with Nanny and Adie and my Great Grandmother and Great Grandfather Shannahan . We also were able to see Great Aunt Linda and Great Uncle Paul and my 2nd Cousin Erin. We hung around and laughed and ate pizza. It was a great afternoon! On Wednesday, Mom turned 30 and Devin turned 14!!! We had a great day celebrating. Mom enjoyed a Starbucks with her biscuits and gravy that Mumsie made, and we went shopping and out to lunch at a neat little Italian Restaurant. We all decided to take pictures in front of the HUGE Christmas tree that they had set up outside.

After lunch, Grandaddy put me to sleep while pushing my stroller. And YES...I am wearing a Denver Broncos shirt in Dallas Cowboy country and I'm alive to talk about it:

Mumsie made Mom a Birthday cake from scratch (it was chocolate cake with chocolate frosting). It was oh sooo good (I can speak from experience). It was in the 80's our first few days in Dallas...so as you can see...the frosting started to melt!:

After an afteroon of shopping, Mom and Dad went out with their friends Courtney and Keith to a nice restaurant for more great food, while I hung with Mumsie and Granddaddy. Shasta (Mumsie and Granddaddy's super shy kitty) even made a special appearance and came out to visit me! He let me touch his nose! This was a HUGE surprise and nobody thought there would be a Shasta sighting as long as I was visiting.

Mom had an amazing 30th Birthday, and couldn't have asked for a better Birthday week!
Thursday was Thanksgiving, and we spent the morning preparing for the Thanksgiving Feast and waiting for more family to arrive. Let me tell you...I think I got to see almost EVERYONE, and they were so happy to see me as well. After our HUGE Thanksgiving feast, Dad and I went to pick up Devin. It was great being able to see her and spend time with her on Thanksgiving. On Friday, we did a few things here and there and left for the airport to head back home.
Dad, Grandaddy and I before our flight back home:

Grandaddy and I had a great time bonding and visiting. I loved it when he picked me up and walked me around. I had a GREAT view from being up so high!
At the airport, we made it through security at the airport with no issues! Yay! I decided to skip my afternoon nap, so by the time we were on the plane...and by the time we found out about a mechanical issue that the plane was having...I was one tired and fussy toddler! Some super nice folks traded seats with us, and that really allowed us to spread out a bit more. Once the mechanical issue was fixed and the plane started moving...I fell asleep almost instantly. I slept the ENTIRE flight. Woo Hoo! We had a GREAT trip to Dallas, and it was so nice to be able to see everyone.
We spent the rest of the weekend doing laundry and getting back into our routine. It was nice to have a couple of days to catch up!

In other news...we are moving right along with the new house! Mom and Dad met with the painting folks yesterday, and it looks like we are also going to be putting in all new carpet. We have a couple of tenants that are submitting applications on the townhome, so we are keeping our fingers crossed! Hope all is well with all my readers, and hope that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Today, my Aunt Lynda turns 40 and my cousin Jazelle turns 7! Wishing them a very Happy Birthday!

3rd Haircut, 1st Candy Bribe.

Happy Friday! Whew. This week has just flown right by! Yesterday evening, I had my 3rd haircut. I was a little freaked out and super unhappy about the idea, until this magical thing called a "cherry sucker" appeared in my hand. Let me tell you...once I had that thing in my mouth...I didn't care what they did to my hair...or my head...or my ears...of any part of my body, really. I don't care what you do to me...just give me a cherry sucker!
"Mmmm. What is this you put in my hand? Tastes...DELICIOUS!"

"No. Go on. I don't mind if you cut my hair now that I have this AMAZING cherry sucker!"

"Oooh Wee. This might be the BEST THING EVER. I love getting my hair trimmed."

OH, and Mom and Dad discovered after my bath last night that I have 4 (FOUR) upper teeth poking through! I'm making up for lost time! They think this may explain some of the fussiness and neediness that I been exhibiting here lately.

We have a SUPER busy weekend and week ahead of us. Weekend plans include meeting with a property manager, another townhome showing, preparing for our trip and packing, an overnight stay for Mom and Dad downtown (I will be staying with Ms. Kim for the evening), dropping off Molly & Moses with Junior and Jason, and Birthday dinner with Grandma and Grandpa Sunday night! & Monday morning we are off to Dallas to see most of Dad's family and to spend Thanksgiving with them. Mom is worried that I'm not going to want to sit still on the airplane. She may be onto something, as it is super hard for me to sit in one place these days. So what if the entire plane hates us...we never have to see those people again! Hope everyone has a great weekend, and we will try our best to update the Blog over the next busy week.

Proof That My Mom Is Funny

Hey, All! Hope your week is going well. Dad insisted on doing some "secret" shopping last night, so I got stuck with Mom and her silly faces and silly jokes. She captured them on camera, as this is recorded proof that she is indeed funny!

Dad picked up a space heater while he was out running around, and last night I slept GREAT. Not a peep out of me! My bedroom gets super cold. There is only one vent, and it competes with the cold window draft. So, this space heater will help keep me nice and warm as the nights seem to get colder and colder. Going to dinner with Grandma and Grandpa tonight. Looking forward to seeing my family in Dallas next week. Mom is turning 30 and I get actually EAT REAL FOOD at Thanksgiving! Everyone is healthy and there isn’t much else to report.

Weekend Update

Weekend Update Time! Had a great weekend. Pretty relaxing, actually...nothing to crazy...so we think it is the calm before the storm. On Friday after daycare, we did some running around and went out to dinner. On Saturday morning, Mom met with a CPA while I took a 3-hour nap! Devin came to visit on Saturday afternoon, and we had Auntie K and Carissa Jr and Jason over for dinner on Saturday night. We had spaghetti and salad and garlic bread...and ICE CREAM Sandwich CAKE for dessert. Mmmm. It was soooo good. Repeated layers of ice cream sandwiches, hot fudge, Oreos, whip cream, and pudding. I actually SCREAMED at Mom once she had decided that I had enough "tastes." You scream I scream we all scream for ice cream cake (literally) Hahah.
On Sunday we just sort of hung around...played with toys...read some books...took a nap...walked a couple of steps...! YES. That is correct! I decided to stand straight up in the middle of the kitchen, and I took a couple of "baby steps" towards Mom with a big smile on my face...and promptly sat back down. It won't be long, you guys...before I'm walking around all over the place! Oh, and I was a bottomless pit this weekend...I could eat a horse!

" GIVE ME MORE FOOD!"

Dad and Grandpa completed a couple of home-improvement projects around the house while Devin, Mom and I all went to Target to kill some time. Devin picked out a Justin Beiber magazine (no surprise there) and I picked out an Elmo book (no surprise there either). Molly and Moses did what they do best…act like total lazy bums. We tend to wear them out on the weekends:

We are preparing for a busy week. Already have a townhome showing scheduled for TONIGHT. Hope everyone has a wonderful week.

Happy November Friday

Happy Friday to You! Another busy week down. Let's see...what have I been up to? Besides getting into EVERYTHING? Not much! I'm always on the go and I am getting REALLY good at making my intentions clear and LOUD. Let's see...on Wednesday we did our traditional Wednesday dinner with Grandma and Grandpa. Grandma did a good job entertaining so that Mom and Dad could finish their dinner:

Coloring with Grandma is FUUNNN:

"Mmmm. These things don't taste too bad either."

Exciting!:

Molly and Moses had their yearly check-up. Their doctor said that they are healthy and looking very good! They both had 3 shots, and guess what? Moses seems to have outgrown his intolerance for pain. He only gave the doctor a dirty look this time. Moses is now taking his shots like a man!

We have been busy getting the house ready for a couple of showings this week to prospective tenants. We may get super lucky and have a renter lined up when we move sometime next month. Not much set in stone for the weekend...maybe getting to see Devin and doing some more prep for the move. Hope everyone has had a great week and PLEASE enjoy your weekend!

Grandma's Birthday Weekend

Happy Monday! We had a BEAUTIFUL weekend here in Colorado. It is hard to believe that it is NOVEMBER and not SEPTEMBER. I guess we are in for some cold weather later this week…there is even some talk about some snow. Sorry, Grandpa! I said the “S” word!

Update on the new house: Last week we had our inspection, and everything came back okay. The roof *could* be an issue, but we need to get a few people out to the new house to take a look. As of today, we are still moving forward. There are quite a few things that need to be done, and Mom and Dad are working hard to make sure everything is all lined up. We all can’t wait to have more room (especially Molly and Moses as they will finally have a backyard).

On Friday, we went and checked out some new appliances (we will need a new washer and dryer) and had dinner at Noodles. We spent Saturday doing some things around the house and grocery shopping. My buddy Gavin and his folks came over to visit Saturday night. We ate pizza and hung out, and had a great time visiting with our company.
Sunday was Grandma’s Birthday and Grandma and Grandpa's 35th Wedding Anniversary, so I hung out with Ms. Kim while the rest of the family all went to brunch at The Broadmoor. They stuffed their faces with all sorts of sweet and savory items that you can’t find at the Country Buffet or Golden Corral to celebrate this special occasion:

The view of The Broadmoor Brunch:

Dad and Grandpa:

Happy 42nd Birthday, Grandma!

Looks YUMMY!

After brunch, they walked around the hotel grounds and enjoyed the beautiful weather. This tree was full of beautiful fall colors:

The beautiful Broadmoor:

Maybe I can go join them when I’m 14! After a quick clothing change, I went with Mom and Grandma shoe-shopping! I offer great advice and an honest opinion, although I didn't buy any shoes for myself.

OH, and yesterday (November 7th), I turned 13 months old! We had daylight savings the evening before, so Mom and Dad worked hard to keep me from going to bed at 6:30 PM. I was tired, but make it until about 8:00 before I just couldn’t keep my eyes open any longer. Here are a couple of pictures taken right before I went to bed.

Mom and Dad are working hard to get the townhome ready for rent this week. Just a few things to do here and there and the place will be ready to go! Hope everyone has a great start to their week.

Halloween Weekend Update

Hey, All! Hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween! We had a very spooky weekend. On Friday afternoon, Mom surprised me by picking me up early from daycare, so that she could show me off to all of her co-workers. I was dressed like a Skelton:

Picture taken in the front lobby:

Mom and Dad decided to keep my costume simple this year. Why? Because I absolutely HATE anything on my head or on my face. So that pretty much eliminated every Halloween costume except for Superman, and they only make the Superman costume in 2T! So, I will be Superman next Halloween! On Friday evening we went and checked out some 200 + pound pumpkins that are carved and put out for display by a co-worker that Mom and Dad know. Pretty cool, eh?:

On Saturday morning, I decided it would be fun to try and do a nose-dive down the stairs! So, Mom hurt her back again while performing the rescue. Sorry, Mom! I forgot how to go downstairs there for a minute. Plus, I need to keep you on your toes! Later on Saturday morning…Devin came over to visit! I took another marathon 3.5 hour nap, while they decided to carve our pumpkin!

They did a pretty good job!:

We hung around the house on Saturday afternoon, and then we got all dressed up and went over to Auntie K’s for her Halloween Party. Mom took one for the team and dressed up in her roller derby gear again (all by herself). Dad threw on a wig and a nose-ring (cheater), and Devin was a Bat-Girl…vampire-thing. I wore my Pumpkin outfit:

I got to see my buddy Daniel, and we had fun hanging out and playing with Halloween toys:

My goofy Dad and I:

Mmmmm. Candy Apples!:

On Sunday (Halloween), we went to a Birthday/Halloween party, and took the day pretty easy! I spent some time playing inside of my favorite toy (a box that is being used as my toy chest):

OH, and things are about to get super busy for our family! Looks like we got the house that we put an offer in on back in September! Of course…this is all pending that nothing major is found during the inspection. Things are going to be crazy as we have a very long To-Do List! Hope everyone has a great week!
