Weekly Happenings

We had a fairly decent week.  Not much to complain about!
I got this super cute watercolor picture back that I ordered a few weeks ago. I'm going to frame it and put it in the kids playroom.  I forgot to tell the lady that Devin doesn't have long hair and Jeff has a beard and I have about 25 more pounds on me.  It still turned out pretty cute! Ha.

On Friday night we celebrated Cortland's 9th Birthday.  He was born the same year Jeff and I were married--so Cortland always reminds me of what Anniversary we will be celebrating over the summer.  We had a fun little party at ITZ

He had a very cool Nascar cake!

Happy Birthday Cortland!

And of course his daddy accidentally picked up trick birthday candles.  It was pretty funny watching all the kids try and blow them out, and the entire cake almost go up in flames!

Alex rode the race cars probably 25 times.  I could not get her off of them! We ended up staying until 9:30, and of course...the meltdowns shortly followed.

Saturday morning playdoh session with Mom while Dad sleeps:

Alex was committed and probably spent 2.5 hours playing with this set.

Barber Shop!

Everyone took some nice afternoon naps, and then the kids and I headed to the park for some fun with the Triple J group.  The weather was super nice earlier in the day--but it clouded up and got pretty chilly come 4 pm.  We still managed to have a great time.

Snack break with Gwyn and Cooper:

All the kids minus Alex and Gwyn.

This little cutie gets braver and braver all the time.

After the park, we went to Pizza Time with the kids, Larissa and Andrea.

Sunday morning I joined the girls for a tour of Villa Sport, and a kick-butt spinning class.  I think we are going to join! It was soo nice, and it sure would be great to have a pool to hang out at during the summer.  Not to mention they have a really cool kids club that JR and Alex could have a lot of fun at on the weekends instead of sitting around starting at the TV.

Larissa and I went to a fun "coffee cupping class" at Cafe Velo.  We got to learn a lot about coffee.  Now I have a new appreciation and respect for coffee.

Brewing and "breaking" the different coffees we got to sample.

Mmmmm...perfection!

After coffee class, we took the kids to Toys R Us to spend some of their Birthday and Christmas money.  Alex was dead-set on a Peppa Pig trailer, and JR knew he wanted Pokemon cards. There was no talking either one of them out of what they knew they wanted.

Jeff brought me home these lovely pink tulips.  They are just perfect!

We had a great week. This week is Dr. Seuss week at school. Alex gets to dress up all week long and do fun activities, and JR gets to dress up on Wednesday.  With the new gym membership, I hope to get the kids in a few times this week and hopefully be able to check out the fun kids pool.  Sunday we have a play date at Little Monkey Bizness. Busy Busy!

Jeff turns 41!

Last week was good.  It was short, and the weather was great! And that always is nice.  I got to visit with this crazy guy while getting in some volunteer time at the school:

Friday night I met a couple friends for a cider tasting at a local coffee shop.  Yum!

Saturday afternoon the kids and I hung out and ran some Birthday errands while Jeff got to visit with an old buddy.

It may seem like all we do is go out to eat. LOL.  While they are eating is the best time to capture a picture! They are generally STILL.

We decided to visit the Ivy Wild school for lunch and their Farmer's Market on Sunday.  It was a very small market that didn't contain any fruits or veggies (not in season right now). But we still made an afternoon of it!

On the tractor out front of the schoool...

Monday was Jeff's 41st Birthday! We decided to take the day off of work.  Our day started with a delicious breakfast at the Omelet Parlor.  Mmmmm.... Bacon and good coffee!

After breakfast we went to see Deadpool.  It was surprisingly good!  We came home after the movie and Jeff had his favorite beer from Dallas waiting for him on the front porch. And a t-shirt too!  One happy guy:

Jeff took a NAP (wonderful), and later we went and met Mom and Dad for dinner at Freddy's.  We came home and had a wonderful yellow cake with chocolate butter cream frosting cake (Jeff's favorite) from Chef Sugar's (the best place in town).  You could say this guy had a pretty excellent day!

Make a wish!

Happy Birthday to such a wonderful husband and father.

This week we are celebrating Cortland's Birthday on Friday evening.  Winter returned today. Boo.  Not much else going on!

Valentine's 3-Day Weekend

We all had a great (long) weekend--for at least the kids and I! The daycare was closed on Monday, so Jeff went to work while the kids and I hung out at Little Monkey Bizness all day.

JR also didn't have school last Friday, so on Thursday...he had his Valentine's Day party and celebrated the 100th day of school with all things "100's."  We knocked this cape out during our snow day a few weeks back, and he was very proud to show it off to his classmates.

Tough.  LOL

Alex received her FIRST rose from a boy!  Tycen's Mom went a little overboard and put together these cute little vases for all the ladies in the class.  Too cute!

Friday night goofing around at World Market:

Look what I got from my boyfriend on Saturday morning!  Thanks, honey!  And yes...they are almost ALL gone.

Alex put together her first Lego set with a little assistance from the entire family.  She loves it!

Grandma and Grandpa came over to hang with the kids so that Jeff and I could grab a beer and dinner.  It was VERY nice to have some time to ourselves. Thanks Mom and Dad!  We went to a new brewery in my old neighborhood!   Then, Carrabba's for dinner (we had a nice gift card). It was  lovely evening.

Saturday morning taking the kids to breakfast so that we could visit the car wash before the never-ending line started.  We had a very productive Valentine's morning--got the cars all cleaned up inside and out.

And yes...we took naps--and then went out to eat again.  Felt more like Mother's Day to be honest!  Ha!  Cracker Barrel (Alex wanted breakfast for dinner). (-:

Before Jeff and I went to bed we checked on the kids as we usually do.  We discovered Alex laying in a large pile of her own puke (again).  Same thing happened last week!  We just don't know what could be making her tummy upset. She doesn't act sick at all--normal energy levels, eating normal, no fever, no complaints.  It is all very odd.

Jeff left for work early Monday morning and we met our friends at Little Monkey Bizness.  Little did I know that we would end up spending the entire day there! Hey! The kids were having a blast making new friends and running around while taking breaks to eat snacks, and I was happy and content not having to listen to a bunch of whiny, bored children!  A win-win for all.

Little Builders.

Cammi, Baby Alex, Jason, and Carissa joined us for the morning.

Auntie K and Olivia taking a snack break.

She must have painted 5 different times.  It was close to 4 pm and I still had to drag the kids out of there!

I got to visit with this little service pup named Zena.  She was so cute!  "Off the clock" here, obviously.  LOL.

These two goofs!  We had a GREAT day.

I couldn't get them off me even after we got home.  I think they were very pleased with our time together (-:

Next Monday is Jeff's birthday and we are celebrating by taking the day off of work, and dropping the kids off at school.  He wants to see a movie and go out for lunch.  Not much else planned for the week! We have some nice weather visiting, so we are super happy about that.
