Weekend Update

Hi, All! We had a fairly good week. December is always a busy month for us...and it has been living up to its name!

Devin Update: Devin finished the last bit of round 3 of chemo last week. They kept her close to the hospital after she received her final dose, and had a pretty rough night. But woke up feeling much better in the morning and was able to go home. She has been getting up and around quite a bit, and is doing pretty good! We all can't wait for this last round to be over, and we are hopeful that will be the end of that!

Eddie has been surprising Alex and I every morning. We LOVE hurrying downstairs to see where he will be! Last week...he made buddies with Elsa. We decided their babies would be named "Ellie" and "Edna." HA!

We had The Loomis Family over on Friday night for pizza after daycare. Alex misses Gwyn...but will be moving up to P4 on January 5th, and they will soon be in the same class together.

Eddie got "caught-up" in some string hanging from the ceiling. Silly Elf!

On Saturday morning, we went to Little Monkey Bizness to pick up Alex's Birthday party invitations. We decided to stick around and play...and we ended up having a great time.

Alex and I are COFFEE THIEVES!!! We see Mom's coffee and make an immediate B-Line for it!

We must have spent over an hour in the Craft Room at Monkey Bizness. Alex and I just could not get enough. And Mom was totally happy letting us make ALL the craft mess at someplace else besides her kitchen table. Ha!

After SUPER long Saturday naps...we ran some errands and went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse. Our garbage disposal cracked...so we had to go to Lowes and JC Penny's to get some shoes!

Dad taking a picture of Eddie in the bathroom. He got the dry-erase markers out and wrote Alex and I a note!

On Sunday...we took EARLY naps. Alex had a really rough night with an upset tummy, and ended up puking all over Mom at 2 am. Lucky mom! After she got sick...she was all better! No signs of illness. After naps, we went to Rudy's Cookie Decorating Party in Manitou Springs. I think this would be our 3rd or 4th year attending...and we always have a great time.

Alex and I defintely consumed a pound of frosting EACH, while we were decorating.

Selfie with Eddie squished between our stuffed snowmen! I'm telling ya...we should rename this month "Eddiember." LOL

We are pretty close to being ready for Christmas! Mom and Dad only have this week left working in the office. Alex and I are excited for some 2-day weeks, and 5-day weekends ahead.

Week Without Daddy

Okay! So we survived 5 days without Daddy! Well...MOM survived, really. And with a tweaked back, too! Good job, Mom. Good Job.

Daddy left Tuesday to visit Devin for the 1st half of her 3rd round of chemo. This was probably one of the BEST rounds for Devin, with slightly less "hard core" side effects than she has experienced in the past, and she was discharged from the hospital Saturday afternoon. Her PET and CT scans came through with EXCELLENT results. The cancer is 80% gone, and she will NOT need radiation therapy. She will start her 4th round of Chemo on December 29th, and they are hopeful that will be the end. They will do another CT and PET scan in January and confirm the cancer is 100% gone, and Devin can go about getting on with the rest of her Senior Year! Phew.

Did I tell you that we adopted Eddie from the Hallmark store last Sunday? He is such a riot! We find him all over the place! Alex and I get ready for school SUPER fast so that we can hurry downstairs and find where he is located.

Tuesday evening...fresh out of the bath and in our Christmas Jammies!

Eddie reading "Frosty The Snowman." One of his favorite books!

Wednesday evening at Mickey D's. Hey! Mom decided she didn't want to cook! Bonus for us!

Eddie brought us a Gingerbread House!

And almost every evening after Mom picked us up from daycare...we would go on a Christmas Light tour in the neighborhood.

Eddie in the Halloween Candy. Great view from up there!

Alex and I showing off our "Devin Support" shirts from a neighbor. We don't know which neighbor dropped them off...but we sure do love them!

Mom decided to take Friday off of work so that she could get some things done. We decided to do breakfast at Egg and I! Alex and I were VERY well behaved the entire time that Daddy was gone. Mom couldn't have been more pleased.

We learned that Eddie enjoys expired Fruit Loops and can spell our names!!

We went ahead and surprised Daddy and put together our Gingerbread House. Alex did an outstanding job being very diligent and careful as she put the tiny candies all over the house. We both enjoyed sampling some of the "glue" aka icing!

Tah Dah!!!

I insisted that Eddie be moved "closer to his house." Ha!

After naps, we met Daddy at Old Chicago's for dinner! He made it safely and right on time from Dallas. We were so happy to see him and have him back, and it turns out he missed us too! This was the longest that he had been away from Alex and I. We then went to the Gump Family's Gender Reveal Party! Turns out they are having a BOY! One of each!

Boy! Found in the middle of the cake hiding inside a plastic Egg.

We had a great time even though Mom sort of blew the news on Facebook. She missed the "No Facebooking" sign on the door. Ooops!

Mom met Ms. Ami for breakfast early on Sunday morning. She had an awesome time catching up with such a dear, old friend. Alex ran with Mom to pick up our organizing shelves at AFW, and later in the afternoon...Daddy put them together. Ahhhh...what a difference now that our toys are organized into individual bins...with plenty of room for future toys. I told Mom that "I'm sooo happy our toys are organized." Must run DEEP in the family!

Grandma and Grandpa joined us for dinner on Sunday night!

Eddie was discovered clinging from our Christmas Star this morning. Alex and I got a huge kick out of seeing this!

We got word that Alex will be moving up to preschool on January 5th. She will be going to Ms. Colleen's class! I can't wait to get to visit with my old friends and my old teacher everyday. Not much going on this week...going to our traditional Cookie Decorating party on Sunday afternoon. Hope everyone has a great week!
