Happy Monday! :: yawn :: We think we have a teething 8-month old on our hands. Phew! Two nights this past week, Ms. Alex was up pretty much all night running a 100.5 degree fever (low-grade). Restless, irritable, and fussy! Mom was thinking she could be getting sick, but she hasn't been showing any signs of illness. Let's hope it's just teething. I didn't get my first tooth until about a week shy of my first Birthday, so I guess only time will tell! We still managed to have a very good weekend despite a fussy and clingly baby. Alex was always being held by Mom or Dad...she was NOT happy if you tried to set her down. We started off our weekend by meeting Junior and Jason for dinner at Dad's latest obsession...Freddy's! We had a good time visiting and it was so nice to see Baby Cami. She sure is growing like a weed.

On Saturday morning, I hung around in my PJ's and watched Disney Junior (one of my favorite things to do):

Later that morning, our friend Robin came over and we met with Tom (who does landscaping here in town). We all chatted for a few hours about possible plans to get our front yard looking like something more than a pile of dirt and weeds. We still aren't 100% sure if we will be able to pull this off in the next few months (due to availiablity, and uncertain Colorado weather), but we have some great ideas as to what we would like to do. Here is a sketch of the plans that Robin drew up:

Later Saturday afternoon, Mom's cousin Cindy and her husband Rob came all the way down from Grand Junction. They were looking for an excuse to get out of town for the weekend, so we welcomed their visit. Cousin Cindy named her oldest son Jeffrey Robert, only he goes by "Jeffrey" and not "J.R." Pretty neat, huh? Jeffrey and his younger brother, Jordan decided to stay in Grand Juncion and keep busy with school activities.

On Sunday, Mom and Dad got some chili going in the crockpot and modeled a couple of winter hats on Alex. We were trying to channel winter.

I guess all of our "channeling" didn't work so well, as it was 84 degrees outside! Nice enough to take Alex and her jumper outside for some fresh air:

Late Sunday afternoon, The Loomis Family joined us for the chili that had been simmering all day and playtime. The adults also enjoyed a couple Pumpkin Ale's that accompanied the chili quite nicely. Alex and Gwyn slowly worked their way through the basket of baby-friendly toys:

Gavin and I didn't waste any time stripping off our shoes and socks, dragging all the trucks outside, and finding the dirt pile to play in (something that Mom would like to get rid of with our landscaping project):

It was nice getting to play with Gavin. I don't get to see him as often as I used to when we were in the same class everyday.
Mom also captured some video of Alex on the super soft comforter they have on their bed. She absoltely LOVES stripping down before a bath and rolling around on the soft surface. She immediately gets super smiley and happy! Mom couldn't resist capturing this on camera.

Nothing much out of the ordinary planned for this week. Auntie K turns 28 on Wedensday, and we will be joining our friends for a "Redneck Party" on Saturday. Should be fun. Have a great week!

Alex is 8 Month's Old & Weekly Update

*A green shovel and Walter the Farting Dog are her favorite toys
*ME! (she squeals with delight when I enter the room and LOVES watching me...I crack her up all the time)
*Rolling around naked on Mom and Dad's super soft comforter
*Nursing and cuddling with Mom (she insists on doing this right when we get home every evening from daycare)
*Socks! (she won't keep them on...and loves to chew on them)
*Splashing around in a warm bath
*Her Take-A-Long Swing
Some of Alex's DISLIKES right now are:
*Being set down (she want's to be carried or held a lot right now)
*LOUD NOISES (not a fan at all)
*Having toys taken away from her (don't you dare take away something she is happily playing with)
*Being put in her car seat
*Molly and Moses getting too close...she prefers they keep their distance

We had a great end to our week. I did FANTASTIC in my new preschool class, and got to enjoy my FIRST Show-And-Tell Day! Of all my toys to choose from, I picked my Jeff Gordon Racecar. On Saturday we had a nice gentleman come over and talk to us about fixing up our front yard with some landscaping. Mom and Dad are ready to turn the pile of dirt that makes up the majority of our front yard into something nicer...hopefully this fall! On Saturday afternoon after my nap, we decided to take a spur-of-the-moment trip to Santa's Workshop! We got to spend about 1.5 hours walking around the park until it closed. BUT, we did get tickets to come back another day and visit.

Funny story visiting Santa this time. When Mom and Dad told me to "tell Santa what I want for Christmas" I guess I missed the last part, and just heard "tell Santa what I want." So, I looked up above his head, and there was a cool fire truck. So, I told Santa, "I want the fire truck." Easy-peasy, right? Santa was so impressed that I sat on his lap without being scared and knew EXACTLY what I wanted! Here I am eyeballing the fire truck above Santa:

After we left Santa's house, I was *a little* confused as to why I was leaving without that fire truck! "Where is my fire truck?" Mom and Dad had to explain to me that it might come sometime in December. Whatever THAT means.

We had a great time. After our visit to Santa's Workshop, we stopped on our way back into town for BBQ at Rudy's! We had a great time enjoying our food and the scenery:

That's about it! Just enjoying the cooler weather...getting adjusted to my new room at school! Mom and Dad have both noticed another jump in my vocabulary and I have been jabbering away all of a sudden. Must be all the older kids I'm hanging around all day. When Mom's beloved Keruig was malfunctioning this morning, I looked at her and held out my hands and said, "WHAT'S UP WITH THAT??" LOL. She cracked up. We are in a pretty sweet spot right now. Everyone is happy and healthy and we are all loving our little family of four. Life is good!

Recent Happenings

Hello! Phew! Had some MINOR MAJOR Blog issues this past week. We thought we would "change it up a bit" and managed to really mess things up! Thankfully, we were able to get everything back with the changes we were looking for. Just a couple words of advice: 1). If it isn't broke...don't fix it! 2). Always SAVE SAVE SAVE before you go deleting something. Ha!

Well, we had an "eventful" end to the week, and a very busy (and fun) weekend. Grandma and Grandpa visited me at school, last Thursday...for Grandparent's Tea! They got to visit me in my NEW room, and they reported back to Mom that they witnessed something that wasn't handled properly. Come Friday morning, I joined a new room with new teacher's. Mom and Dad were very sad to separate me from Gavin, but it turns out this might be a GOOD thing for the two of us. Plus, we still get to visit each other in the afternoon's when all the preschool rooms combine into one room. I really like my new teacher's, and they all seem very nice and helpful. Quite a few things remain the same, and quite a few things are different (from the TWO's room I just transferred from). The preschool room encourages A LOT more independence, and has a lot more structure when it comes to lessons and learning activities. I will be learning the sounds of all the letter's, how to serve myself when it comes to snacks and meals, learning math, learning geography, learning how to be responsible for putting on a jacket when going outside to play, learning how to make my cot for naptime, participating in a weekly "show-and-tell" on Friday's, and much more! Mom and Dad are super excited for this next step, and to watch me grow and learn even more in the next couple of years. Ms. Alex is doing just wonderful. Her personality is coming out more and more every day, and she will be 8 Months old on THURSDAY! Can't believe it. She still prefers mom's milk over any other food right now, but she is slowly getting the hang of something in her mouth other than milk. On Saturday, I located Mom's shoe's! They had gone missing a few weeks back, and it turns out they were misplaced under the bed.

I took an EARLY nap on Saturday, and after I woke up...Mom and I went to a Birthday party for Jasmine who turned 6 years old at ITZ (one of my favorite places on Earth). Her mom works with MY mom and dad. AND, she goes to my daycare. She just got transitioned out of the room I just joined, so it turns out a bunch of her friends that attended the Birthday Party are going to be my new classmates. There were lots of familiar faces at the party.
