On Wednesday our company paid for us to go to a Sky Sox game in the middle of the day! They also gave us beer money and free parking. The weather was just perfect and it was nice to have a little afternoon at the ball park to ourselves.
But! Turns out the game was a double header! So we decided to go get the kids and bring them back to the game. The stadium was empty! So we practically had the place to ourselves.
The sad face was due to Sox the Fox. Still NOT a fan!
Empty park!
Silly kids!
Hahahah.
Cotton Candy!
And a caramel apple helped get her mind off of Sox.
On Thursday morning--we got all packed and loaded up and headed for our little cabin (although I say cabin it is really a good-sized house). It is the same place we stayed at last year, and it just worked so well and was so nice and clean we decided to book it again for this year's trip.
Thursday night before dinner checking out the water action.
We ate at a tasty little place called The Fritz.
Girls posing by the motorcycles.
Olivia is going to be a big sister next month!
Olivia just loved following Alex around and doing whatever she did. It was pretty cute.
After dinner we walked over to the park where they had live music going. Alex loved watching the stoned old people dance around. She didn't want to leave!
The parks and rec service had all sorts of games and fun things for the kids to do in the park.
JR explained to us what a wonderful evening he had--which was good--as he told us on the way up he thought he was going to be super bored.
On Friday we got all loaded up and went to the Hot Springs at Mt. Princeton. We spent about 4 hours there hanging out and swimming and eating snacks.
Watermelon face.
We met our friends Danielle and Jeff Steinhoff who have their little condo close by. Jeff and JR had a fun time going down the water slide.
This guy had a fun time going down the water slide, too!
We all got kicked out of the pool once due to lightning in the area. Can you see Auntie K's very pregnant belly photo bombing JR? Hahah
Chilllaxin!
Once everyone left due to the lightning--we practically had this little mini pool to ourselves. It was perfect!
Conked out.
After a day of swimming we stopped by Elevation Brewing in Poncha Springs. We tried to go last year but they were so busy there was no placed to sit!
The kids were entertained playing games and hanging out.
Kid is REALLY good at Uno come to find out!
We came back and grilled out at the cabin. It was a wonderful day!
Saturday morning Trent had Oliva duty. So much for that! Ha.
We met Danielle and Jeff for breakfast at a cool little place along the river called Rivers Edge.
After breakfast we strolled to the park for some playtime.
Alex LOVED playing with Ms. Danielle. The two of them really bonded and it was really sweet.
Then we walked around town a bit and found these cool masterpieces!
That thing street legal?
Salida has some really cool little shops!
And we stopped in for a couple cold beverages at Wood's Distillery.
Their cocktails were just amazing! We all had a great time.
Pizza afterward at Moonlight Pizza--one of our favorite stops!
JR couldn't get enough of that crazy decked out car!
Neither could I!
And then Sunday morning we packed up and headed home. It was a great time had by all--and I'm already looking forward to next year. We were going to stop at the Dinosaur Experience in Canyon City on the way home--but they were closed. So we grabbed lunch and made it home to do laundry and prepare for the week. One full week this week, and then next week is a long 4th of July weekend, and then we are off to Dallas!
