Weekly Update

This past week was BUSY!   We have been running around like chickens with our heads cut off.  The kids had fun at the zoo last week, and some spray park time and movie time.

And a trip through the car wash in the old 1996 Honda Accord! That we have decided that the time is here--time to say goodbye and sell it.  It has been a wonderful car for the past 16 years!

We just hung around the house Saturday waiting for...a SHOWING!  So come dinner we were ready to escape so we went out for wings.  This one LOVES her chicken wings.


I couldn't help but do a comparison of these two!  2010 vs 2017.  So much gray and less dark.  And so rare that they actually sit right by each other and hold still.

And Sunday! Sunday afternoon was THE DAY that we had no screams and both JR and Alex passed Level 1 at swimming!  I was so happy and relieved I could barley take it. After seeing them struggle, and cry, and lose their appetites over these lessons I just couldn't describe the feeling I had watching them NAIL the test and move on.  The last two weeks were so traumatic I just didn't know if I could take any more.  I'm a weakling!


The test consisted of floating for 3 minutes on their back. Being pushed under water.  Being flipped in the water, and being thrown in.  I was amazed that Alex went from being completely hysterical last week to not a peep this week, and THIS!


So, we took them to Kum and Go after and let them pick out a treat.  Anything you want, kiddos!  A blue slushee for Alex....


And a giant Drumstick for JR.  He couldn't even finish it.  But hey! They passed!

This week I get to attend a French cooking class with a chocolate theme!  We are going to celebrate Dad's birthday on Saturday night by going out to a nice dinner without the kids.   The kids get to go to the Fire Dept and Police Dept this week, and the Cliff Dwellings on Friday.  Busy Busy!

Father's Day Wekend

We had a wonderful week and weekend. The kids got to tour the Air Force Academy and they had donuts with Dad.

On Saturday we went to Baby Kelly's 1st Birthday party.  The kids got wet playing with the splash table--so they ditched their tops.  It isn't a party until everyone is topless!

It was a great party and we enjoyed celebrating.

On Sunday we had another round of swimming lessons.  Alex (this time) screamed so hard she made me cry. Not even kidding.  I think JR got in to her head from last week and it was a really rough lesson.  Of course JR had NO problems this week and loved it!  These kids I tell ya... Hopefully things are better next week for Alex and we can focus on moving right along.

This week has been busy!  The kids get to go see Beauty and the Beast on Thursday, and aside from swimming lessons I'm not sure what we have going on this weekend.

Weekly Update

Summer is here! It was 92 this past Saturday! I think it is safe to say our snowstorms are over for a few months.  The kids had their first full week of summer camp at the daycare. They got to see a movie, went to the spray park, walked to the park, and went to the library.  
I also received 6 week photos of Baby Beckett.  Michelle said they are doing well!  I got cleared to resume normal activity during my 6 week follow-up appointment last Monday--all is well and I'm feeling great.



Last Monday evening Jeff and I attended the Board of Directors meeting for the school.  It was a VERY nice dinner at MacKenzie's Chop House downtown.  Mom and Dad watched the kids so that we could attend.  It was good to visit with everyone on a more casual level.  I might have to stay on the board just for that amazing meal!  Ha!

I splurged and ordered the fun tattoo kit that we got introduced to a few weeks back at our company picnic.  So, I tatted up the kids.  The glitter tattoos are a lot of fun.

On Saturday, Dad drove the family down to the St Arnold Beer Festival and Family Fun Day.  Jeff was able to partake this year!  Thanks, Dad!  The kids had a blast doing all the fun stuff they had laid out for kids--and we got to sample some mighty fine beers.  It was HOT!

Alex and JR got Kona Ice AND Josh and John's.  They were happy and we all had a great time.

Sunday we had Round #2 of Swimming Lessons.  JR managed to FLIP THE EFF OUT.  Yeah.  Like so bad we had to leave the pool area.  At one point he dug his fingers in so deep to the rubber matting along side the pool that I thought his instructor was going to give up and end the lesson.  He was NOT happy.  Alex decided she wasn't happy about him not being happy and started crying as well.  Luckily, her instructor was able to keep her moving and not thinking about it.  We had told JR that if he did well we would take him to Target to pick out some Pokemon cards. After exiting the pool, he told Jeff, "I don't think I deserve any Pokemon cards, but I think I could go for an Icee."  Ha!

Later in the afternoon we drove to WolfRanch for Dylan's 5th Birthday party.  The invites came out last minute, so we were the only ones there that were not family.  I'm glad we went! They kids had a blast.

This week is Donuts with Dad, and the kids get to tour the Air Force Academy tomorrow and get to visit the zoo on Friday.
