Happy Thursday and Video Catch-Up

Happy Thursday! BIG NEWS!! Today has been the 2nd day in a row of waking up with a completely DRY diaper!! They have been working with me more at school, and I'm also staying "dry" the majority of the day! Mom bought some "Big Boy" underwear for me...and I think we are going to get serious about this whole potty training thing next weekend when we are home (this weekend we are going to Breckenridge). Of course I have yet to Poop in the potty. Only Pee. No poop! Only Pee! No Coke! Only Pepsi! Below are just a few quick pictures and those videos Mom was hoping to load earlier in the week, but didn't have much luck as YouTube was having a "Case of the Monday's." And the very last video is of me being silly with Gavin while we were exiting the Zoo this past Sunday. Mom waited too long to pull out her camera (again), and caught the tail-end of what was Gavin and I cracking each other up being the silly Two-And-A-Half Year olds that we are!

First Zoo Trip of the Year

Happy Monday! I tried to tell Mom this morning "Today is NOT a school day." Well, unfortunately I was wrong. I had a REALLY rough morning. Hopefully my day has been improving! Despite my morning, we all had a great week and a great weekend.

Earlier in the week, I hijacked Mom's Weight Watcher ice cream bar (yum):

Speaking of Weight Watchers...Mom and Dad are doing really well with their weight loss. A total of 29 pounds have been lost between Mom and Dad. Yeah!
Let's see...I got a haircut last Thursday. I was WAY over-due. Mom decided she wanted me to have a "little boy's haircut" so Ms. Laraine busted out the clippers this time! She was worried I wouldn't let her come too close with them...but I did JUST FINE. Remember...as long as I have candy...you are welcome to do whatever you wish to my hair!

Alex was ALL smiles on Saturday morning.

She had a great week at daycare. Ms. Diwane has crowned her an "easy baby" and said she only fusses when she is hungry or tired. Ms. Diwane also said Alex has a "reserved seat" on the Buggy because she is so pleasant. (-: Mom told Ms. Diwane to come over to the house between 7 and 8:00 PM and she might change her mind. Ha! Dad and Grandpa ran an errand Saturday morning so that we could get our lawnmower up and going. I explained that I did NOT want to go with them, so instead I sat and played with the play-dough that the Easter Bunny brought for an entire hour! Talk about an impressive attention span! (Mom actually caught some video, but can't upload it at this time).
On Saturday afternoon we ran some errands around town. Alex and Mom ran some baby shower errands, and Dad and I went shoe shopping and went to Lowes. I usually poop at Lowes (what can I say...I'm a MALE and all the tools and manly stuff just makes me so happy I poop), but this time...I decided to spare Dad the trip to the changing table.

On Saturday night we went out for pizza.
On Sunday, we got up bright and early and met The Loomis Family at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo for our first official zoo trip of the year. We really didn't get very far...between two toddlers and two infants...somebody was needing a diaper change, a snack, or a change in position/scenery...so although we didn't make much progress...we still had a good time.

Gavin and I rode the train a couple of times. Our faces were rather expression-less during the ride, but after the ride was over we both agreed "THAT WAS FUN!!!"

I decided to skip my afternoon nap after a morning at the zoo, but I was in a rather surprisingly good mood despite my skipped nap. Yesterday afternoon we just hung around the house, played with play dough, made some crafts, got a few things knocked off our TO DO list, and enjoyed each other’s company. This week is a short week because we are headed to Breckenridge for Mom and Dad's company trip on Friday. It is the company's 15 year anniversary celebration, and there are over 400 people going! We will have a one-bedroom suite with a full kitchen. There are two swimming pools (Dad and I might take a dip but Mom swears she won't be caught dead in a bathing suit in front of co-workers), a few restaurants and an arcade at the resort! Hopefully once we all arrive in one piece with all of our "stuff," we will have a great weekend away. Let the LONG list-making begin! Hope everyone has a fantastic week (we are going to be in the high 70's and low 80's...here comes Summer!!!).

Weekend Update!

Happy Monday! Hope the weekend was a good one. Ours was great! We joined Grandma and Grandpa for dinner at Panera on Friday night. Alex hit her brick wall at 7:15 and it suddenly became TIME TO GO. She was not a happy camper until Mom finally soothed her to sleep. Dining out with a toddler and an infant can be "interesting" at times! On Saturday, we just hung around the house. We ran a few errands after my nap, and visited Auntie Amber at her new digs! Auntie Amber's little niece, Bailey stopped by before we left (Bailey is just a few weeks older than Alex). They were dressed like twins!

After our visit, we picked up some junk food to take home with us from Red Top!

On Sunday, I ran some errands with Dad while Mom and Alex stayed back at the house and did 95 loads of laundry. We met The Loomis Family over at ITz later on in the afternoon. Gavin and I had a fun time running around with our Dad's while our Mom's hung around with the baby girls and chatted. We ate pizza in the movie room and watched A Bug's Life.

Today, Dad had to take Moses to the vet. He broke one of his nails on his front paw, and it wasn't looking so good. The Vet gave him some antibiotics, some pain meds, and a lecture about attacking our fence (actually, he is trying to attack the neighbors dog). Bad Moses! But, we are glad he is okay and didn't need to be sedated.

Guess Who is 3 Months Old Today??

Can you believe it? Alex is already 3 months old today!

She has had a wonderful first week at daycare, and has been adjusting just fine. Mom claims she is much better adjusted in the evenings than I was my first week at daycare. I basically slept all evening my first week. It just wore me out completely. But Alex? She is awake and alert and pretty happy all evening! It's really nice because we all (especially Mom) have a chance to reconnect with her after being away from her all day. Her teachers have reported that she is taking her bottles great, napping well, and is an overall “happy” baby. All great news!

I have also had a great week! On Monday I told Mom and Dad "I need to pee!" I promptly ran to the bathroom where Dad had followed me in, and with a little help...I went pee in my potty! I'm definitely getting close to ready. Mom and Dad just need to find the right plan of action to make it happen. This morning I looked at my Toy Story calendar (that is hanging in my closet), and told Mom "The month is wrong!" Mom had to double check what month it was. Sure enough it was on the correct month, but Mom found it pretty funny that I said that. Oh, and I have been waking up much earlier than usual for the past few weeks (6:00 am instead of 7:00). Let's just say my mood has been "interesting" in the mornings here recently.

Easter and Updates!

Wow...has it really almost been two weeks since my last post? Time for some updates and TONS of pictures!

Let's see...where did we leave it last...
Alex is doing REALLY well and is back to 100% after that nasty RSV. Mom has really enjoyed her last two weeks at home with Alex. She is back to work today! Mom and Dad did a "practice run" on Friday, and dropped off all of Alex's stuff for daycare. Mom and Dad went and had breakfast, went shopping, and went and saw a movie (Hunger Games). After the movie Mom was anxious to come and pick us up. Alex did great! She took a couple of catnaps, took a couple of bottles (phew), and only got upset one time when the noise volume in the room was a little too loud for her liking. The Infant 1 room where she will be for the next 4-6 months is at full capacity. 10 babies total...including her friend Gwyn (Gavin's baby sister). Ms. Kim, Ms. Diwane, and a new teacher...Ms. Natasha will be taking good care of my baby sister. 2/3 of the nice ladies that took care of me just two years ago! We know she will be in great hands. Mom on the other hand? Well...she will have some adjusting to do. She demanded some "extra" love from me today...a few more kisses and hugs than usual. She had Dad drop both Alex and I off this morning as she wasn't sure if she would be able to actually leave the daycare to go to work! In many ways...leaving Alex to go back to work has been harder than it was for her to leave me. A big part of it has to do with the fact that Mom wasn't working as much this time around, so she was able to bond and really enjoy Alex without all the added stress. Oh, and uhhh...she was getting much more sleep this time around than she was with me...sorry, Mom! But, she knows she will see both Alex and I at the end of the day and that all will be just fine. Mom has her office decorated with some recent pictures of both Alex and I...so every time she misses us she can just look up and see our smiling faces.

OH! Last weekend we had a little get together with some of our friends! The weather was beautiful, so we decided we better take advantage and fire up the grill.

We had a nice time hanging out with all our friends, and hope to enjoy a couple more gatherings with everyone as the months become warmer and the days become longer! On Sunday afternoon, we decided to take a trip to Old Colorado City. We walked around the town for a little bit before we had dinner at Front Range BBQ.

During the week, Mom and Dad had to give Alex one bottle every night so that she would be sure to take a bottle at daycare. We called it "Bottle Boot camp."

Last week ended with TWO accident reports for me at school! I fell one day and bumped my head, and then took another spill and split my lip open! What can I say...I'm ALL toddler...and have a hard time slowing down!
This past Saturday Mom and I went to The Aldrich's house for their youngest daughter, Ella's Birthday party. Mom used to work with Mr. Scott at USA Hockey, and they live just around the corner from us. I had a blast playing with all of the kids. We had an Easter Egg Hunt (my first hunt knowing and understanding what to do), and enjoyed some cake and ice cream.

This is Ellie (Elizabeth). She is the daughter of some more old hockey buddies (Mr. Kevin and Ms. Talitha). Ellie is now 18 months old!

During the Easter Egg Hunt, one of the little boys was sad because he didn't find any M&Ms. So, I kindly reached into my basket and handed him a packet of MY M&Ms. Mom just about fell over backwards. She was very proud of my observation and my sharing. Wow.

After we got home from the party, we dyed Easter Eggs! This was my first year dying eggs and I had a blast. My fingers are STILL stained from all the fun I had.



After we dyed all the eggs, I wanted to dye them all again! Round 2 coming right up!

Turns out the Easter Bunny decided to make a stop at our house Saturday night! He/she did a great job. Turns out the Easter Bunny knows EXACTLY what I like! (Anything Spider Man, Superman, Toy Story, Cars, band-aids, Dinosaurs, tattoos, chocolate, Pez, and play-dough):

The Easter Bunny also left Alex a really soft blanket, some bottles, and a few rattles!

We spent Easter morning enjoying our time together and hanging out. After my nap, Dad went outside and hid a bunch of eggs in the backyard for me to go and find:

The plastic Eggs had coins and chocolate in them! Sweet!!!


I LOVED searching all over the yard for the eggs. Can't wait for Alex to be old enough to join me next year!

Dad and I made an early evening trip to Boston Market to pick up dinner. Grandma and Grandpa came over to enjoy the food with us. I was in a particularly grumpy mood. Too much fun and too much sugar! But, we all had a nice visit.
