Weekly Update

Apparently is winter as we kick off this week with a SNOW DAY. & with another storm expected right on top of this one, I'm guessing it isn't going to be the only one happening this week. It is only Fall, and last winter is still way to fresh in my head. Ugh! I'm not sure how we are going to make it when I'm working, and trying to keep to whiny and bored children occupied. Hold me.  Also, my photos from the week were switched over to a weird format that required 3rd party software to view.  So, instead of doing that I had to do screenshots of what I got--so that is why they are a little weird below.

The kids had a fairly good week!  We went to STEAM night at the school Friday night.  I volunteered to help out at a station, so I didn't get to see all of what the kids did.  But, Jeff got a couple of pictures of Alex playing with bubbles.

On Saturday evening, we met some of our friends for another year of the Spook out Shoot out at World Golf. We went last year and had such a great time, we decided to go again. The weather started of just gorgeous!  But by the time we were leaving around 8:30 pm, it was freezing and blustery.
Gavin and JR:

A black cat and a witch.  Too cool!

Some of the pictures that Larissa captured:

Cuties!

Oh! And we kicked off "boo-ing" our neighbors this week, so we ended up getting "boo'd" twice!

On Saturday, we decided to take the kids to try out Archery.  They had a chance to give it a try this past summer at camp, and JR had been asking to go since then.  It was a fairly small class, and the kids got some individualized attention.  The lady who was teaching them has a 20-year old son who is currently on the path to qualify for the next summer Olympics!

Check out that form!

They had a fun time, and asked to go back. So, we might be looking in to more classes to see if it is something they want to commit to long-term.
Here are my pictures from the Spook Out Shoot-Out.

Creepy!

The whole gang: Eli, Jayce, Alex, Gwyn, Gavin and JR!

Sunday morning we got dressed and stopped for breakfast at Java Punk before running a million errands.  Of course every place we went was crazy with the storm on the way in.

MMmmmmm.

This week could be a bust with the weather.  Thursday is Halloween and it is going to be cold!  The kids have parties at school, and we have our traditional Trick Or Treating event at the office only this year--we have 100+ more offices to get candy from!  We may not need to brave any sort of cold.  We are going to hang with the neighbors and eat some pumpkin-shaped pizza at our old house.  This weekend we are off to Great Wolf Lodge with The Loomis family to celebrate Gavin, Gwyn, and JR's birthday's!  Larissa also turns 40 while we are there, so we will have all the fun!

Weekly Happenings

The kids had a nice, short week. Conferences took place on Thursday evening, so they had Thursday and Friday off from school.   We had EXCELLENT reports from meeting with both teachers, and couldn't be more proud.  We get the sense that Alex might be one if not her teacher's favorite.  Her teacher just adores her and could not say enough great things.  She also had straight A's on her report card.   JR is also doing really well, and although he JUST got a new teacher...TODAY! His teacher for the first quarter of the year really enjoyed him, and seemed very impressed.
I had to show off my braiding skills while somebody dressed in the spirit of Halloween.  Tis the right month!

I checked out a new coffee shop that just opened by the office. Delicious.

We had to go through the havoc of figuring out everyones fall and winter wardrobe situation which included a lot of returns and exchanges.  But! We did it!  And these two came out on the other side with matching pajamas.

Thursday we had JR's well visit exam with Dr. Reich,  followed by dental cleanings right after.  Knocking it all out in one day.
This kid has never minded going to see the doc.   Funny.

No cavities and a healthy report for Alex.  Minus an extra tooth that we need to figure out what to do with.

Look at those pearly whites!  Can you spot the extra tooth?

Clean report from this guy, also!

Here are the X-rays that are being sent over to an orthodontist they want us to visit soon.  That extra tooth my cause some problems for her adult tooth that needs to come in.  We will find out soon!

When your phone is left with this one...you get little presents.

Saturday we went to a fall festival of sorts that included axe throwing, bouncy houses, cave simulators, and fun with old friends.  Yep...that is JR and I throwing axes side by side.

The bouncy house was fun until we were getting ready to leave, and JR had slipped and hit his face on the ground.  He has a pretty good bruise on his head and cheek. )-:

Cooper!

It was a good time and a beautiful afternoon.
I made pumpkin chocolate chip muffins!

And Sunday Jeff and I went to go see Joker in the theater while the kids hung with Izzy from next door.  It had been a long time since we had a movie date.  This week is a full week for the kids.  The school is having a fundraiser Wednesday evening, and a fun STEAM event Friday night.  Saturday evening we are doing The Spook Out Shoot Out with The Loomis and Dennis families.  Should be a fun week.
