Hannah's Baby Shower and Recent Happenings

This past week just zoomed on by. It was all about preparing Hannah's Baby Shower!
This little guy had a LIVE Oregon Trail Day on Friday, and one of my friend's snapped this picture of him for me at school.

On Friday at work we had a huge kickoff event. Drinking a glass of beer while at work is the best!

Saturday was Hannah's Shower!  It was a lot of work--but the GOOD kind of work. Everyone had a great time, and Hannah was truly spoiled. Larissa came over and captured some really great photos.

Hannah and her Mother, Mother in Law, and the grandmother's.

The hostesses!

Instead of shower games, we decorated baby onesies! Hannah got to pick her top 3,and those people won prizes.

This one loved the activity!

I made this one.  Ha!

Hannah's friend Meg made this one (she is in Europe currently and couldn't attend).

Hannah appreciated everything very much!

Opening presents.

The living room turned out wonderful with all the pretty decorations.

On Thursday, I get to take the morning off of work to help with a STEM event at UCCS for middle school girls around the city.  That will be fun, and something different to switch up the week.

Weekly Update

Powering right through January, aren't we?  We finally got a day that felt like January, yesterday.  Cold, and windy, and SNOW!  The kids even had a 2 hour delay this morning.  A first this winter season!

I made these bagels that are all the rage on the Weight Watcher support groups currently. Flour and Greek yogurt!  I have never made anything bread-like my entire life, so I was quite amused these turned out decent!

They even look like bagels! Sort of...

We decided to hit up Smashburger last week while Jeff had Spin.  The kids enjoyed a shake!

& for the first time I ordered this as my burger! Lot's of firsts in food last week.  Ha!

On Saturday, JR and Jeff were invited to Jameson's "boys only" gaming birthday party, so this little lady and I went to see a movie with her gift card from Nanny and Adie.  Paddington 2!  We both enjoyed it.

After the movie, we went to the after-party at Jameson's house.

Happy 9th Birthday, Jameson!  JR is just 9 months behind you!

This guy ate two pieces of ice cream cake. Stinker!

A huge trailer with TV's and game consoles pulled up right in front of the house, and the men and the boys got to play some games right in the driveway.  Pretty cool setup!

The boys playing...

The dad's playing...

Dudes being dudes in the garage.

Pretty awesome inside!

On Sunday--we did the gym, and enjoyed the house while it was cold outside.  I got to practice some braiding on my long-haired Ally Cat!

I also did quite a bit of decorating for the upcoming baby shower I'm hosting this weekend for Hannah.  Lot's of work, but well worth it!  I can't wait to see it all come together.

I borrowed Alex's Roses!

I got some hot tub time after the gym--but not without company!  Ha.

This week, I have a lot of school board stuff going on, and the baby shower on Saturday.  Until next week!

Alex Turns 6! All About Al!

My baby turned 6 on Saturday!  We made sure her day was extra special, and she told me multiple times that she really enjoyed her special day.  First up?  Donuts for the birthday girl!

And because...why not? We put a candle in her donut and sang happy birthday (which one be one of 3 times she got a candle and the Happy Birthday song sung to her on this day).  Ha!

This year, we decided to do something different other than the same gym parties we have done in the past.  We also decided to keep it smaller.  So, we decided on the cutest little spa party in an old house down town.   She had a great time being pampered with her buddies.

First they got tattoos!  Taylor showing of hers...

Then, they picked their polish colors.

Alex picked blue and green!

Our new neighbor, Brooke who lives in our old house across the street.

Rylee from school!

Aubrey and Hailey who lived right next door to us, and now live across the street!

Alex's BFF Gwynie!

After nail polish, they soaked their piggies and got to use a sugar scrub and vanilla lotion.  It smelled wonderful!

Then, they all got touch-ups on their nails.  Because when you are 6 it is REALLY hard to hold still and not mess up your fresh polish.  LOL.

Then, they got to go in to a special room that was all set up with cookies and ginger ale.  Very fancy. They loved it!

Happy Birthday and candle #2!

Smile, ladies!

Kenzie, Taylor, and Brooke.

Fancy fancy!

After their treats, they opened gifts.  Alex got to sit in the big, special fancy chair.

She was spoiled!  And since we ended early, the girls had a dance party.

Brooke was the DJ (not a fan of dancing--don't blame her--I need a couple shots of vodka to get in the dancing mood).  Ha!

Alex got some cute cards from her grandparents.

Larissa joined me with her nice camera, and got some really good shots! These are the pictures she captured:

I feel like Alex looks 16 in this picture!

I made a toast, and I'm so glad that Larissa captured it.  To Spa Day!

Our neighbors are quite the gymnasts!

Kyla striking a pose (friends with JR and Alex), her mom Erin took care of both kids when they were 12 week old infants!

After the party (I was exhausted), we came home and then met grandma and grandpa for dinner at Alex's choice:  Noodles and Company.  Their Mac N Cheese is her FAV.  JR wasn't too happy about the food choice, but oh well.

We surprised her with an ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins.

Happy Birthday and candle #3!

One of her gifts was a journal that lights up. She loves it!

Sunday we woke right up and made lip balm from a gift she received.  It was a mess!

I went to a baby shower planning meeting in the afternoon, and we just took it easy Sunday night.   Today, the kids are off of school due to the holiday.  Not much going on this week--it will be nice to chill a bit.
