Weekly Happenings

Not a bad week. COLD. & Wintery. & surrounded by cold and sickness everywhere. But otherwise, not a bad week.  The kids had Monday off of school, and then Tuesday was a delay due to snow and cold temps.  So, we took advantage and shoved our faces full of sugar and saturated fat.

Alex FINALLY lost her 2nd lower tooth.  It was a lot of drama and woe the past week--some tears, lots of refusing to eat things unless they were cut up in to one million tiny pieces.  But, we prevailed and that thing finally came out! Thank you, Snapchat Filter for showing me what my children would look like with lip piercings.  Ha!

Jeff had a wonderful Birthday and was spoiled. We decided to open presents the evening before his Birthday so that we could take a little more time.

The kids and I had been talking and planning what we would get him for about a month, and we followed through.   A massage, a StitchFix Gift card, some beer, some soda, some coffee, some cologne he had been wanting for a long time, some undershirts.  I think that is it!

Opening a hand-written letter from Alex.

Oh! Some fancy wine.

We love him so much.

He took Friday (his actual birthday) off of work, and after dragging him to the gym with me to burn some calories, we went to Denver Biscuit Company to fill that hole right back up.
Delicious! We couldn't finish it all...

Nor could we finish this bad boy.  And yes--it stood up about 8 inches in the air.

He got to relax the rest of the day, and since it was National Margarita Day we met our friends for some margs, food, and fun.

Birthday dessert to share-yum!

It was a great turn out of great friends we are so fortunate to have.

He wasn't enjoying himself, at all.

After dinner, we went to a local brewery for some beers.

Saturday was Cortland's 12th Birthday Party at...Skate City! Oh the nostalgia every time I go in there gets me in the gut. Check out that cake his Aunt Courtney made!  It was delicious, too!

These two got their skates on and had a grand time.  They insisted they needed the walker things, but whatever.  I will take what I can get.

Happy Birthday dude!

Amber, myself, and Karissa kickin it OLD SCHOOL.

Honey and Cortland checking out that massive cake.

This guy would rather play arcade games.

Jeff and Alex posing for a quick picture.

There she goes!  Her muscles were sore the next day--she was working some new ones.

Saturday night, our awesome neighbors gave us their tickets to the CC game.  We sat at the very top and spread out, and had a great time watching them play.

True Story.  LOL

Go CC!

We didn't do much all day Sunday.  Mom and Dad came over to have dinner and celebrate Jeff's birthday.  Not a whole lot planned for this week!

Weekly Upate

We had a fairly good week.  This one was having a rough week, and got her ipad and desserts taken away from her.  I'm happy to report things have improved, but this one is going to be a SUPER fun teenager. Hold me.  Ha!
Valentine's Day morning--the kids got a couple little gifts before school.

Ms. Sciacca sent me this picture of Alex and her friend during class playing well together.

I got to help with her Valentine's Day party. This was the first amount of sugar she had in over a week!  She was pretty happy.

They had ice cream sundaes and passed out their little Valentine's to their friends.

Alex and her best buddy Raurie.

Oooh! And I got these beauties delivered to my front door while working at home.  Jeff loves me!

And since I wasn't cooking on Valentine's Day, we went to the most romantic place we could think of.  Bubba's 33!

Mmmmm. Cheers to love!

& queso!

JR.  LOL.

Moses got in on the Snapchat love.

The kids took a picture of Jeff and I.  Not bad!

On Friday, the kids didn't have school for a teacher work day.   We met some friends at the park and almost blew away. Seriously the wind has been the worse that I can remember.  It was miserable! But, we really wanted to get out of the house and meet our friends new puppy--Caramel!

We manged to hang for one whole hour.

She is just the cutest.

On Friday night, JR and Jeff were not in the mood to go out or eat dinner, so Alex and I took advantage of this opportunity and I introduced the girl to one of the best things in life.  Olive Garden.   We sat at the bar and they spoiled her rotten.

"Can we make this our Friday night tradition, Mommy?"

I wish, honey. I wish.

On Saturday afternoon we packed up and headed to Denver.  Per a recommendation from a friend, we went to the coolest little co-op building that had all sorts of vendors and places to eat and one of our favorite breweries.

We decided to do BBQ over Street Tacos and all four of us agreed--this was probably some of the BEST BBQ we have ever had. Even JR loved it!  A place called: SMOK.  It was delicious and the service was top notch. We can't wait to go back.

Enjoying his burnt-ends sandwich and tell me "don't post this picture on Facebook."

After dinner, we went to the Colorado Mammoth game at The Pepsi Center.  It had been 10 years since Jeff and I went, and we decided it was time to take the kids.

They had a great time watching the game.  They play music the entire game and it has a great party feel to it.

& the Mammoth won!

We didn't do a whole lot on Sunday, and today the kids had no school for President's Day.  So, we joined our friends in the afternoon for The Lego Movie 2.  It was funny and cute.

We used the gift card Nanny and Adie got Alex for her birthday.  Had a great time.

I'm ready for winter to be OVER.  Looks like we might have another 2 hour delay this morning.  I think we are actually having a winter this year.  BOOO.
