Weekly Update

Phew! Another super busy December week and weekend done with.  I'm looking forward to some boredom in January.
Photo session at swimming lessons on Wednesday evening!  We have been going once a week since May, and the kids are doing great.   We recently switched instructors, and now they have Mr. Thomas who they LOVE.  No more complaining when it is time to go.

Goof balls.

I went to volunteer in the classroom last week for the first time in Alex's class, and J.R's class gave me this really sweet card, chocolate and candle for helping out.  It is great to be appreciated!

Jeff and I went to our company Holiday part at the office.  It was the first time they didn't go to a fancy facility, so we decided to leave the kids with their buddies and went and enjoyed the party.

I started my 3 day process for these super labor-intense cookies that were part of the annual Cookie Exchange I hosted on Sunday afternoon.

Saturday afternoon we attended another annual tradition--Cookie Decorating with Mark's event at the Space Symposium.  I think this was our 7th or 8th year!  Always a great time.

JR and Connor.

Oh! JR's 3rd grade teacher was there!  His wife is one of the Realtors that helps organize the event, so it was fun to be able to hang out with him for a bit and visit.

I got to put a little more effort in to my cookies this year now that my kids are old enough to figure out there own!

Yes--we decided to just let her eat the icing.  No sense fighting it.

After decorating, we got to go and check out the Space Symposium.  We could seriously spend all day there it is THAT cool.

& Sunday afternoon was the Cookie Exchange!  There was a lot less people this year, which made it a little more chill and relaxing.  Tons of delicious cookies and treats!

Amber and I showing off our necklaces she bought for us a few years back.

Snapchat Selfie Sesh!

Larissa, Cathy and I.

It was a good time had by all.
This week, the school is doing a "Gallery Night" and a Gingerbread House making night.  The Knowles Family gets in SUPER late on Thursday, and we are hanging with them this weekend until they leave for Loveland on Sunday morning.  Busy Busy!

Tis The Season!

Busy busy busy.  And the 2nd half of the month gets even crazier.   Eddie has been super busy making the kids laugh and smile every morning.  Some of his happenings...

Date night!

Friday was our date night with Larissa and Shawn.  It was an ugly Christmas Sweater party at Boards and Brushes, so I sported this terrible thing.

Dinner and cocktails at Pig Latin Cocina with this handsome guy before we did some board work!

Getting ready to get to work!

Selfie time!

Going over different stains.

I'm a professional now--it was my 3rd time.  So  I had lots of moments to entertain myself with Snapchat.  Ha!

Now we are getting somewhere.

Nice work, Jeff!

Smile!

Our finished products!  I wasn't too crazy about mine.  Guess that is why we have a basement.  Jeff's turned out great, and we had a super fun time.

The weather ended up pretty nice on Saturday, so we decided to drive up to Denver to Casa Bonita and the Denver Zoo.  We heard the lights were just amazing, so we wanted to check it out!
Ahh...memories!

We learned that if you go at 2:30 in the afternoon there is no line!

The prices went WAY up, but the food was pretty good and so was the service.  We also got pretty good seats.

Watched a puppet show this time, also.

And somebody hit the ticket jack pot!

Casa Bonita was also pretty well lit up for the Holiday.

We bundled up and hit the Denver Zoo at 5:30.  Most of the animals were sleeping or blocked off, but Jeff and I were amazed at how many lights they put up.  And we did get to see quite a few animals!

Check out this snake.

The pictures really don't do it justice.

Let's do a selfie!  -Jeff

The elephants were very awake and active.

Treat break!

Ice Sculpting.

We were there probably 3 hours.  It was a little chilly, but we were able to go in to different areas and warm up.  We were amazed how big the Denver zoo is.  I had never been since we have a wonderful zoo here, but we decided we would all be going back soon.

Jeff and I were woken up early Sunday morning by JR with news that Alex lost her first tooth. Which was weird...because we didn't even know she had a loose tooth!  We figured this would be a very long and drawn out process, so we were both sort of baffled!  I guess she just discovered it was loose and then yanked it right out!

Later on Sunday we went to meet Juniper, Hannah and Jeff for some snacks and a beer.

LOL!

We went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner afterward, and I got a cute shot of this one showing off her missing tooth space!

I have caught a 2nd wave of decorating the house.  Our bedroom mantle now looks much better with Jeff's sign.

Coffee table decor.

And on our drive to school this morning.  Alex got $3 from the tooth fairy.

Busy week ahead, and a festive weekend.  Holiday party at work, Rudy's cookie decorating day, and I'm hosting the Ladies Cookie Exchange again this year.  Busy, but fun.
