It Feels Like Summer is Here!

FINALLY feeling like summer. AND! With the heat approaching the mid 90's this next week--we are really going to be feeling it.  I'm excited to start my part-time, 80% remote status change starting tomorrow! Which means, the kids had their last day of daycare for the summer this past Friday.  I'm ready to spend more time with them, have more flexibility for the school and the board, and if all goes well--have a lot less anxiety and more time during the school year.  I'm excited and so are they!

Earlier this week--Alex was up from 2:30 am to 4:30 am with the pukes )-: It had been a long time since we have had any episodes, and we weren't sure if it was a virus, or her reflux.  The next morning she seemed fine until we went and grabbed groceries.  I gave her some Benadryl that helped with the nausea and she did great the whole rest of the day.   We decided to journey outside and do some sidewalk chalk, and it wasn't long before the entire neighborhood joined us.

On Thursday night we went to the school for The Never Ending Story movie night.  Gavin and Gwyn and the entire Loomis Family joined us.

Two nights in a row? What a treat!  On Friday we went to their neighborhood for concert night in Cordera.  The adults chill while the kids run around with Kona Ice.

We have been working to keep the lawn looking nice.  A $200 water bill for last month didn't hurt! LOL.  Front yard...

Saturday evening we decided to journey out to Falcon to visit a brewery we had never been to before.  It was beautiful weather, so we enjoyed sipping on some new beers and playing corn-hole with the kids.  Free flights for first-timers!



They got pizza--we had Island cuisine.  Yum!


Spicy chicken jerk sandwich, Island fries, and fried plantain.  Mmmmm.

Unfortunately, this morning JR woke up  not feeling all that wonderful.  Turns out he was running a 102 fever and complaining of a headache and sore throat.   We will see what comes of it, but hopefully we can fight it off.

As I mentioned earlier--this week we start a new schedule and hopefully a new way of life moving forward.  I'm excited that everything will turn out, and I can have the best of both worlds with that work/life balance.   Ms. Rose will be taking the kids on various journeys while I'm working during the day for the rest of the summer.   Museums, splash pads, bowling, movies, skating, play-dates.  We are all excited.

Hey! We got our family pictures back from the beginning of May!  I think they came out pretty good. I would have liked to have had a couple more good ones of J.R turn out, but oh well.

We had a pretty good "first" week of summer break being home.  The kids got to stay home with me on Wednesday, so I signed them up for a painting and craft class at Painting with a Twist.  They did a few field trip with the daycare, too.  The painting class was super cool! 







They did the two little hand elephants, some picture frames, and a beaded necklace. 

I'm trying hard to give them a summer that doesn't involve being stuck in daycare all day.

On Friday, the hollistic vet in Falcon managed to squeeze us in so that we could get a 2nd opinion on Molly and her back situation.  It has been declining for a couple of years now, and it turns out the doctor thinks it is probably a disc in her back.  Since surgery only has about a 50% success rate in a dog 12 years old, we decided to give acupuncture a try along with some CBD oil.  She didn't seem to mind the needles one bit!  We had to sit still with her for 20 mins.   Jeff was there also, and I truly think she was smiling having both of us give her our undivided attention and lots of treats and love!

We aren't sure if we are "looking" for improvement in our heads or not, but she hasn't had a poop accident since her appointment, and she seems to be a little perkier and has been more involved the past few days.  The doctor thinks by the 2nd or 3rd treatment, we should really have an idea as to if this is going to help her. 
I did get an update from Michelle on Beckett!  Apparently he is in to licking baby farm animals.  Ha!

On Saturday we had zero plans, so we decided to go to the Sky Sox baseball game.  It was just about perfect weather!  We got awesome seats, too!


And as long as you give these two treats and sugar--they are good to go!

Sunday morning Alex and I were up early making Jeff and Grandpa Neiman Marcus cookies.  They turned out DELISH!

Jeff was very happy to find cookies baking, a new Yeti mug, his favorite face wash, and an Amazon Gift card.

We drove up to Centennial to meet Amanda for brunch, but she couldn't make it.   We went to Snooze and it was awesome! Such a great vibe and good food and music!

We stopped by the Outlet stores on our way home, and dad came over to visit before the kids went to bed. 

Busy week ahead--lots of field trips for the kids (North Pole Today and skating tomorrow), and Connor's Sky Zone birthday tonight.
