Our Travel going to Dallas last Thursday morning was pretty uneventful. Alex only had TWO meltdowns on the airplane because 1). She didn't want to sit in her own seat and wanted to sit on Daddy's Lab and 2). Her ears started hurting her as we were getting closer to landing in Dallas. But other than that...everyone traveled great. It also didn't hurt that Mom packed us up with all sorts of books, snacks, and fully-loaded ipads!
Neither one of us napped on the plane, so we were super exhausted for the drive to Granddaddy and Mumsie's house. Yes, this is Alex falling asleep while picking her nose. LOL:
It was HOT and we wasted NO time getting in the pool! Turns out I was REALLY good at hitting "home runs" with the wiffle ball and bat!
We hopped out of the pool and went to dinner at O'Jedas. We were concerned it was going to be Dad's only chance for some Tex-Mex while visiting...and I think it was a wise decision. Alex and I did great considering we had been traveling all day and were exhausted with NO naps.
Hanging with G-Daddy! They had their entire kitchen and living room remodeled recently. It looks awesome!
Friday morning eye-balling the swimming pool from above.
We spent...ALL DAY LONG IN THE POOL. From about 9:30 am, until about 5:30 pm. No naps either! We just hung around and played and snacked and had a great time.
I got my first (minor) sunburn. Even with 80 coats of sunscreen...some of those rays managed to squeeze through.
Mumsie and Alex:
Alex stole Aunt Amanda's HAT for the weekend. Soo cute!
I did pretty good in the pool...didn't want to show off any of my new swimming skills...but I did a great job staying in the shallow end and only flipped off the raft ONCE...and knew exactly what to do...so that was GOOD!
Cute little soda thief!
Aunt Amanda babysat us while the adults all went to The Grotto for a SUPER yummy dinner. Mom had the steak with lobster on top, Dad had a HUGE steak. They really enjoyed themselves and us kids had great hanging with Aunt Amanda. Of course...we were still WIDE awake when Mom and Dad got back...so it was another super LONG day.
Mumsie and Mom fetched us some yummy morning donuts Saturday morning. Dad picked up Devin from Denton, but since Devin got called in to work (she just got her first job at an Italian Restaurant where she lives), she only got to visit for a couple hours before she had to leave. Darn!
And Alex stole Mom's Starbucks!
Silly!
Aunt Amanda died a small chunk of Mom's hair...PURPLE! Mom loves it!
And on Saturday night...we went to The McCrate's house for BBQ and MORE swimming. We had a great time visiting, eating, and playing with the kids.
On Sunday, we met Nanny and Adie for brunch! They came back over to the house for a little more visiting time, and Mom insisted we take a nap! It didn't take long for this to happen:
After waking up from our naps...EVERYONE came over for a fun BBQ family gathering. We got to see just about everyone!
Alex and Aunt Amanda:
My buddy Gabe and I (I'm refusing to smile). Gabe was sooo sweet with me and got me to try some hummus!
Momma and Poppa!
Rob and Daddy "chillin."
Aunt Amanda and Alex being cute:
Mmmmm...more corn on the cob!
2nd cousin Anthony and Alex posing for Mom:
Paisley (who is about 9 months older than me) and I having fun in the fish raft:
The "Wright" boys talking over the details of their group Cannonball!
They did these for quite some time...
2nd Cousin Chris, and Paisley:
The Family BBQ was awesome. Everyone stayed over late, and there were lots of laughs and good times.
We had a plane to catch Monday morning...so we had breakfast and packed up all our stuff...and we were on our way to the airport!
Saying goodbye to G-Daddy:
Alex zonked out on the plan back to Denver. We had a very smooth return to Colorado...minus all the elevators at DIA being Out of Order!
Quick stop at our Favorite Dickey's in Denver for a late lunch...and we were home sweet home to see Molly and Moses.
Mom got us all unpacked and did a couple loads of laundry and we were officially ready for the week. We will probably be back for Devin's Graduation in May...and can't wait to hop in the pool again!
Not much going on for this week...Fall will be here soon...so I imagine we will be getting in as many evening park-trips as we can over the next couple months. Hope everyone had a great Labor Day Weekend.
