Cortland's Birthday & Recent Happenings

Hey, All! Hope everyone had an excellent week.

We celebrated Cortland's Birthday on Tuesday evening. He turned SIX years old.

The party was held at ITZ, and we all had a wonderful time. Alex stayed home with Daddy, so that she could get to bed at her normal time. Out comes the Birthday Cake!

Happy Birthday, Cortland!

Blowing out his candles:

Opening presents:

I insisted on doing some racing!

It was a pretty fun night, and we had a great time celebrating.

Alex discovered the mess, I mean...fun of an OREO Cookie!

About to get slimed!

Mmmm...this isn’t too bad!

My 18" Spider-Man arrived in the mail on Friday! Dad would like to hang him from my ceiling in my bedroom. Only problem is...he weighs A LOT! We need a rope to hang this guy!

Dad may have had some fun posing him...not sure who was enjoying him more...ME, or DAD! LOL

Alex decided to "do some work" while I was napping Saturday afternoon:

Grandma and Grandpa came over for the 3rd weekend in a row to enjoy some time with Alex and I, while Mom and Dad ran a few errands and enjoyed an early dinner. Alex and I took Grandma and Grandpa to the park. Alex was CONKED out on the couch when Mom and Dad got home. Too much fun!

Sunday was spent around the house cleaning, and organizing. Mom is getting ready for the next consignment sale in a few weeks, and Dad had quite a few little things to do around the house. On Sunday evening...we had been invited to enjoy a free dinner at a new restaurant here in Colorado Springs that is opening TODAY. But, we were told when we arrived that it would be a 45 minute wait to be seated, and Alex and I were already getting pretty hungry. So, we didn't end up doing the free dinner...but the manager gave us a $25 Gift Card for stopping by! So, we will enjoy that another night. Instead, we walked across the parking lot to one of Dad's favorite burger joints...Smashburger. Alex ate her weight in GRILLED CHEESE. Well, as we were heading home after dinner...Alex started crying and fussing. Mom just figured she was ready to be out of the car. So, we pulled into King Soopers for a quick trip to get some fresh produce for the week. Let's just say we didn't make it that far, because as Mom was un-strapping Alex from her car seat...she puked EVERYWHERE!!! She was covered, and Mom and Dad just stood and watched in pure shock. They had never seen that much puke come out of something so little and cute! Luckily, we were close to the house and got her cleaned up and bathed right away. Dad actually thought the car seat might be RUINED. So many little nooks and crannies that were very difficult to get too. Once Dad had it completely stripped down, they did the best they could cleaning the remainder out in the bathtub. Mom and Dad *think* they may have saved it!
NOT how they envisioned spending their Sunday evening after Alex and I went to bed:

Digging out chunks with Tweezers and a Bobby Pin!

Fortunately, Alex was doing just fine after she got sick. She slept great, and had no other signs of being ill. So, must have just been too much to eat and some carsickness.

Not much planned for the week. Alex needs her Chicken Pox vaccine this week (especially since there has been TWO recent confirmed cases in MY preschool class). & that is about it! We turn the clocks forward this weekend, and are looking forward to the extra daylight. Walks and park trips after dinner have been dearly missed this winter.
