Ms. Junior and Mr. Jason came over Friday night for Spaghetti! Ms. Junior has an amazing homemade recipe for sauce...so all Mom had to do was cook up the noodles and put some salad together and we were set! After dinner, we decided to go drive around and look at some Christmas lights in the area. It was Ms. Junior's idea to bring hot chocolate and hot apple cider with us on the journey. Yum!

While we were out looking at lights, we found one house in Mom's old neighborhood (right across from the elementary school she went to), and it was a site to see! It had the lights going to the music that you could tune into on a low frequency channel. We had fun sitting in front of the house watching a few songs from the car.
I can't imagine how long it takes them to set all this up. Wow.
As of recent, whenever I spot Christmas lights driving around town...I yell "I SEE SOME!" I really do have an appreciation for all the pretty lights this time of year. Maybe next year we will put some lights up on our house! We all had a great time driving around and looking at all the lights. Great idea, Ms. Junior! I passed out in the car before we made it home.
On Saturday, Mom was up and making cookies bright and early. Dad put some finishing touches on Alex's nursery, and we accomplished quite a few normal weekend chores. On Saturday afternoon we decided to go pick up an early Christmas present for Moses! A brand new bark "correction" collar. It is different from just a bark collar, because Mom and Dad actually control it with a remote. Moses' big things is charging at the TV whenever there is any sort of action, an animal of any sort, and sometimes...for no reason at all. It is self perpetuating, and can REALLY get annoying and out of control. He also gets VERY aggressive when he is outside, and the neighbors let out their dog. We will see how it works over the next few months, but so far all Mom and Dad have had to is give him the warning sound...and he seems to back down pretty quickly.
On Saturday evening, we drove over to Mr. Jason and Ms. Junior's house for their ugly sweater party and cookie exchange. Mom and Dad couldn’t find actual ugly sweaters, so they took red and green sweatshirts...and decorated them up with all sorts of tackiness. Dad had bells sewn to his sweatshirt, and Mom and I were decorated in Christmas pins (some going back to the 1980's). Ms. Junior bought me a couple of gifts to unwrap...some CARS stickers, and a neat TRUCK coloring book.

Did I mention the sugar rush that I had going? I was a bottomless pit! Cookies, cupcakes, cheesecake, chocolate, more cookies...punch. Nobody thought I would be sleeping that night.

It was so nice being able to spend time with friends with good food and good laughs. This is what the season is all about.
On Sunday, Mom decided to start working on the gifts that my teachers at daycare will be receiving. Chocolate dipped marshmallows are part of the package, and I didn't hesitate to "taste test" one or two of them.
Mom must have spent 3 hours working on the gifts (hot chocolate kits in Christmas mugs), and you are not going to believe what happened to them! Later in the afternoon, Mom placed the box that the carefully wrapped mugs were in on the washing machine. We left to go hunt down a new trash can...and when we arrived home? THE ENTIRE BOX OF MUGS WERE ON THE FLOOR BROKEN TO PIECES!! Turns out the washing machine (that was running a load of laundry at the time) must have vibrated the box right off the top. All but 4 mugs were completely destroyed. Mom was pretty sad. So, she will have to go hunt down more mugs, and re-bag and redo all the decor. Luckily the hand-dipped marshmallows were wrapped separately, so they won't have to be redone.
Grandma and Grandpa came over Sunday evening for dinner. We hadn't seen them for two weeks! First grandpa was sick, than last week Mom caught an ugly stomach virus. It was nice to be able to see them and visit with them. They tried to put together some sort of plan as to what to do with me when Baby Alex comes in the next few weeks...but not knowing what day or what time sort of makes it difficult to go over all the possible scenarios. For the most part...we are going to be "winging it." Mom has a feeling that she might have to be induced (just like she was with me). It makes planning easier...but it sure would be nice if Baby Alex decided to choose her own Birthday without us having to evict her. Only time will tell!
Mom and Dad are off of work all next week, so we are going to get quite a few of the remaining baby things done...and hopefully spend some time relaxing and enjoying our last few days as a family of 3.
