Christmas and New Years 2018

We had a great Christmas and New Years, and the kids have really enjoyed their winter break so far. They don't go back to school until the 9th, so they still have some time to enjoy. Jeff and I managed to capture lots of pictures over the last couple of weeks, and they a BUSY last few weeks.
Gingerbread House Decorating night at the school.  Fun little PTO community event where we all decorated a house, drank hot chocolate and watched Polar Express.

Alex and her friend, Rory.

Oh! We bought a new car!  We decided that I needed AWD now that I'm driving the kids around more and more.  We love it!

On the 22nd, the Knowles Family flew in to visit with us for a few days.  We enjoyed their company.

Jazelle, Lynda and I did a fun little thing at Boards and Brushes where we decorated ornaments.  And took selfies... Ha!

Silly.

Twinsies!

Molly and Katja.

Oooh! I got my hair done and added some pretty teal.  I love it!

Pictures from Lynda's phone of our time with The Knowles Family.

On Christmas Eve, we let Alex pick a present to open.  She picked the box that had this American Doll in it, that we bought for her 4 years ago.   She isn't too crazy about it now, but I think she might grow in to it.

On Christmas Eve, we went over to Mom and Dad's for a wonderful dinner.   Yum!

And for dessert we had some delicious pie from 3.14 Savory Pie Shop here in town.

We drove around and checked out a few Christmas lights after dinner.

And I caught JR and Alex full of excitement Christmas Eve being goof-balls.

We left diced peppers this year for the reindeer (because I forgot the carrots), and Santa of course got cookies.

Reading Christmas stories before bed.

Christmas morning--they were very happy with what Santa brought them.
Alex had asked for Rolly.

And they both got Viofit Junior step-tracking devices.

All sorts of awesome stocking stuff.

Quite the chap-stick collection

Some awesome presents!

And these two enjoying all of the festivities.

We HAD to do the Bath Bomb Kit!

Mom and Dad came over later in the afternoon for brunch and watched Elf with us.  It was a very laid-back, one of the more quiet Christmas' we have had--and we really enjoyed it!
Day after Christmas we decided to escape the house for a bit.   Dinner at Bonefish Grill:

And on the 27th, I invited Jenny and Kristin over to watch Pride and Prejudice.  They LOVE the movie and have been talking about getting together to watch it now for months.  Kristin brought Tori and Lily with her.  It was a girls day of lounging, visiting, and snacking!

Alex decided to watch the entire 5.5 hour long movie with us!  It ended up being closer to 9.5 hours with all the breaks and visiting that took place.

On Friday, Mumsie flew in to see us!  So we went to lunch, and let the kids run around at Whitt's End.  They may have also talked us into dessert.

Mom! Take a picture of me with the dogs!

We went to Manitou on Sunday and did some window shopping, and ate at The Loop!

Stopped for a break at Swirl Winebar.  Their ceiling is too cool.

Great picture!

We met Sharon's friend Nicole and her 2 boys, and one of her son's girlfriends up in Manitou, and snuck in this group picture.

At Swirl Winebar.

Molly and her Dad.

Sharon went home on New Years Eve.  We enjoyed her visit!
Back to Manitou again on New Years Eve, only this time we loaded up the dogs and the house and decided to celebrate and ring in the new year with Jenny and Jose's crew!

Molly and Moses were quite pleased we decided to take them along with us!

There was tons of yummy food, and Kristin and Joe brought their gang up as well.  It was a full house with lots of dogs and kids.  We had a great time.

Kristin and I!

Myself, Jenny and Kristin and a co-worker of Jenny's that came to visit.

Jenny!

Jose and I.

Somehow we managed to all stay up until 3:00 am!  Playing games and just having a great time.

Noel and Jose.

We tried this really weird berry tablet that makes everything sour, taste sweet.  So we were taste-testing everything sour.  Limes taste like candy!  Jenny is tasting a very bitter beer and she was enjoying it!

Another game in action...

Moses was pooped.

Getting ready to toast at midnight.

Watching the countdown.

It was a super fun evening.  We woke up and had pancakes and eggs, and were stuffed and spoiled again!

The kids got to eat after the adults did.  They were pleased!

Oh, and pictures from Jeff's phone that he sent to me over the last few days.

Catching JR Christmas Morning right after he spotted the stash Santa had left him....

They LOVED their robes!

Lego set from G-Daddy.

Jeff captured this cute one of Alex and Moses.  Awww.

We are excited for 2019.  JR will turn TEN, and Alex will be 7 in less than two weeks.  I'm pursuing another surrogate journey, so who knows if this year will involve another pregnancy.
