Started off our weekend at Woods Distillery in Salida. Yummy cocktails!
Kid friendly, too. We got in a couple of rounds of Uno.
We walked by the coolest rock and gem shop. JR asked to borrow my phone so that he could take a million pictures of all the pretty rocks and gems. He was in heaven!
So many cool crystals, too!
Funny guy!
Crystal Tree! So cool. JR said he wants to get a good job so that he can come back and buy it someday.
We went to dinner at a little place right on the river called Boathouse Cantina. It was good!
Of course we hit up the Salida park--even though it was a bit chilly.
Friday for lunch we went to a cool little place in Salida called Rock House Cafe. It was delicious. This was a BBQ bowl with Pork.
A little Boci Ball outside for the kids.
Window shopping at different places around town, and we found some kayaks!
Nap time!
Frozen yogurt!
More cards!
Nap in the sun on the park bench like a bum.
A stop for dinner at one of our favorite pizza places, Moonlight Pizza. They were slammed and we mist have waited 45 minutes for a table. Crazy busy.
Worth the wait though.
On Saturday headed back to The Springs, we decided to stop at the new(ish) Dinosaur Museum in Canon City. It was pretty cool, and included a guided tour that the kids managed to endure. It was very informative and sort of boring, but they did great through the boring part!
They had a cool kids area after the tour.
A really fun outdoor area for kids!
They talked us into the rope tour that was outside.
This one picked up a random map...Ha!
We made it back in time to get unloaded, do some laundry, and get ready for Easter!
Guess who decided to come visit!
They were very happy with the goods.
We drove out to Black Forest to Gayleen and Mike's house for our annual brunch and Easter Egg hunt.
Jameson!
Alexa!
The kids table.
Christopher (who is now 2 1/2 years old).
Where did Christopher go?
These two munchkins!
Cathy and I.
Alexa being goofy.
I had this idea to make the kids take 800+ photos as an April Fools' Joke, since Easter was on April Fools' this year. The dad's were outside hiding about 300 eggs, and these kids were being tortured inside with mom's and their camera phones. LOL.
Brian, Jeff, Duane, and Mike came back from hiding the eggs, and they also became a part of the joke. Ha!
They were pretty good sports about it all. "Ugh! Seriously, Mom?"
JR filled his bucket pretty quickly, then decided to hide his eggs for Christopher to find. It was so sweet and cute watching him tell Christopher were to look so that he could find the eggs.
Family photo!
It was WINDY!
Connor going through his goods.
Cute little guy with a full basket thanks to JR!
Alexa and Alex going through their eggs.
Happy Camper!
Angella caught this picture as they dashed out the front door after the photography torture.
Cute little Sam in her Easter Dress.
Pretty girl!
This week the kids are back to school. Alex has soccer this weekend, and then on Sunday we are surprising the kids with a night at Great Wolf Lodge. We aren't 100% sure how we are going to pull off the surprise yet, but it is going to be awesome.
