Surprise Weekend at Great Wolf Lodge

We had a wonderful little weekend, and Monday off work!  To be honest I was a little bummed we didn't stay an extra day--we had so much fun with the kids.  Bonding time and lots of laughs.  We surprised them Sunday afternoon after lunch. We headed up North and they thought we were going to run some errands.  I managed to video tape the surprise and it was pretty awesome!

Saturday evening we got to hang out with JR's old friend Rylee from Hope!  Her parents met us for dinner downtown.  We had such a great time I didn't think to get my camera out and start taking pictures.  Isn't that great?
This was Sunday afternoon at lunch--Alex and her stunner glasses.  LOL.

This was when I started running the video as we rounded the corner to Great Wolf Lodge. They were pretty confused as Jeff pulled up to the front doors where the drop-off area was located.  JR was watching me video tape the entire time, and I think he knew something was up.  It wasn't until we got out, and Jeff had popped the trunk and they saw all of our bags and stuff that they REALLY got it.

Then we went to the water park to get changed and get wet while they were getting our room ready.

We got checked in around 3 pm. We didn't get a "themed" room this time, but it was still really nice and decent!

After we changed into our PJ's, we came down for ice cream and story time.

We all slept pretty good and went to breakfast in the morning at the buffet, and then got changed and right back to the water park. Alex went down her first water slide with me, and then with Jeff.  She loved it! JR went down all the water slides, except for one as he wasn't tall enough.  He couldn't get enough!


Who likes skipping school on a Monday and hanging out at the pool with slushies?  This girl!

We left the resort around 3:30.  The kids got along great and it was hard to leave. We will be back for sure.

This week Alex has a field trip to the Fire Station off of Dublin.  I'm going to go along with her class!  JR gets to go to Denver to the museum on Friday.  This next month is super busy with everything going on as they wind down the school year.   We have a beer dinner at the gym Friday night! Jeff and Alex have the Daddy/Daughter dance this Saturday afternoon at the school.
