Awesome Texas Trip-Devin Graduated from High School!

We just returned yesterday afternoon from a wonderful trip to visit Jeff's family in Texas. The trip went very smooth, the kids did great, we were not rushing around like crazy people, we got to see just about everyone, and we were happy to see Devin walk across the stage and receive her High School Diploma. I have been telling people this trip was SO much less stressful than some of the trips we had taken since last October. We were all sad to come home. Could have easily stayed another day or two!

We arrived Saturday afternoon and didn't waste any time hunting down some Tex Mex at Anamia's. Their margaritas are AMAZING.  Alex was happy to be spoiled by Mumsie and Grandaddy.

Somebody didn't nap the first two days and was pretty pooped. Alex managed to stay in great spirits!

The kids are so much easier to travel with these days. Very predictable, much easier to please, and they can hang!  There was a time I wasn't sure if we would ever be able to enjoy traveling again. Making themselves right at home...

Sunday morning...they didn't care that the pool was 72 degrees (which is pretty darn cold).  Usually they like the pool to get above 78 to be comfortable.  Didn't stop Alex and J.R at all!

Splashing in the pool is so much better than Sunday morning Cartoons!

And lots of snacks are mandatory pool-side.

Enjoying her Texas Time.

On Sunday afternoon we had the Summer version of Thanksgiving.  Almost all of the Wright side came over, and we all pigged out on BBQ and tons of good food.  J.R. helped me make homemade lemonade.  Only required juicing 25 lemons!  Haha. It did end up delicious!

Silly boy wrapped up like a Chipotle Burrito.

Getting into the summer spirit quite nicely.

Letting little Paisley (Jeff's cousin's daughter) paint their nails:

Strawberry cake, Cherry Cream Pie, and Strawberry Cream Pie?  All 3 please!

I had a friend that I met through Hannah move down to Texas about 18 months ago.  I got to meet her (Megan) for coffee at the little coffee shop nearby. What a treat!

On Monday evening we met Micki and Rob for a fancy dinner at our favorite local eatery: The Grotto.  Sharon and Neil joined us and we had a great time catching up and eating some tasty food while Amanda and Aunt Carol hung with the kids.  We met Pat, Aunt Linda, and Uncle Paul for brunch on Tuesday morning...and Devin's graduation took place Tuesday evening at the UNT coliseum.
Handsome boys:

Alex lets Grandaddy hold her 95% of the time.  He just loves carrying her around and showing her off.

There she is! The very last one due to the last name WRIGHT. Ha!

Amanda sneaked down low to get some good pictures of Devin walking in and gave her a high-five!

She had a fairly small class of 191 students. The graduation started at 5:00 PM, and we were done about 6:30. Not to bad!

She did it! And everyone stood on the stage and applauded her and all that she accomplished...especially over the last 9 months.

We got to meet her for pictures right after the ceremony.
Aunt Amanda and Devin:

Sharon, Neil, Alex and Devin:

Great picture!

Pat, Jeff, and J.R in a "mood."

Done with High School!

Uncle Russ and Aunt Carol (Neil's older sister and younger brother):

After the ceremony we went to her graduation dinner at a little BBQ spot in Sanger (near where Devin lives now).  She was very happy we got to attend the graduation and we are excited to see where she goes next.

Bright and early Wednesday morning we were on a plane set to come home!  The kids traveled great, and I had no complaints.

We managed to wrap up a weeks worth of chores yesterday afternoon and we are ready for the weekend.  The circus is in town and we are going with Mom and Dad, and The LaSavio family.  We are checking out Amber's new house on the West Side Sunday afternoon for a small get-together.  Ahhh.  Finally! Summer is here.
