Miserable Alex
Once her fever started to come down she perked up a birt.
But her right lymph node under her neck! OMG! It was red and hot and all sorts of swollen. Yuck.
So, Alex stayed home with Mommy on Wednesday. Alex was feeling well enough that they went to the mall to get her some new kicks, exchange a few summer shirts, and stop by and see the puppies in the pet store:
She also got a pair of sunglasses that she is OBSESSED with. Wears them...EVERYWHERE we go!
On Friday, she was still running a 102 fever on her right side. So, Dad stayed home with Alex in the morning and Mom went to work SUPER early so that she could work a half-day. Mom called and talked to Dr. Reich's office, and they decided they wanted to see her for a follow-up. Dr. Reich looked at her throat and ears again, and felt her swollen node. Dr. Reich went ahead and diagnosed with her Lymphangitis on top of the strep throat, and prescribed some stronger antibiotics. Hopefully these knock out the infection her in lymph node.
Late Friday evening, I woke Mom and Dad up shortly after they went to bed...as I had thrown up in my bed and right near their bedroom door! Dad changed my sheets and Mom got me all cleaned up, and it wasn't long after that, I did it again. Mom was shocked about how cool and calm I was. Like it was really NO BIG DEAL. I ended up staying the rest of the night on a mattress in Mom and Dad's room, and didn't get sick again. Saturday morning...I woke up feeling pretty normal! Must have been something I ate that didn't settle with my tummy.
Saturday morning walk to the park!
We ran some errands on Saturday afternoon, and grabbed dinner at Panera. Everybody seemed to be acting pretty normal!
On Sunday, Mom did her first "Dry Tri" at the gym she goes to. She did a 2000 meter row in 8 mins, 36 seconds, 360 weight exercises, and she ran a 5K in 34 minutes and 40 seconds. Not bad, Mom!

The "after" pic while she was all hot and sweaty.
We spent the rest of the afternoon getting cleaned up and doing a little bit of yardwork:
And...decided to go to Old Chicago's for dinner!
It turned out to be a nice weekend minus the rough Friday night. Memorial Day Weekend up ahead! Mom and Dad are taking Friday off to have the day to themselves, and then we will have 3 days together! We are doing a BBQ at Auntie K's on Monday, and not much planned other than that. Maybe a trip to Santa's Workshop is in order!
