Weekend in Poncha

We had a great week--the kids only had 3 full days of school, but are LOVING it (still). The district was closed for testing Days Thursday and Friday, and they went in for 3 hours Thursday afternoon for their testing so we were free to leave town Friday morning. So, we headed to one of our favorite little areas and stayed in Jeff and Danielle's little condo in Poncha Springs.
Leaving for school last week!  Jeff goes in to work super early on Tuesday's and Thursday's, so I believe this was a selfie taken for Daddy!

Lunch on the porch when the weather is just perfect--one lovely perk of working from home!

Molly enjoys it also.

Friday morning on our way out of town we decided to introduce the kids to our favorite little purple castle diner--King's Chef!

There was just enough spaces for all of us to eat comfortably.

Kids enjoyed it!

We made it in to town fairly early.  First stop? Elevation!

Beautiful afternoon enjoying their patio and a Peach and Raspberry brew.

Ooooh! Ahhhh.

This nice little lady gave the kids some cute rocks she had decorated, and JR and Alex decided to put them in this little garden by the condo.

Dinner at Moonlight Pizza!

And a visit to the park in Salida right across the street after dinner.

We love walking down by the creek and throwing rocks in the river.

And pondering life.  LOL

Isn't she pretty?

Saturday we had a nice relaxing morning, and then journeyed out for lunch!

After lunch we took the 45 minute drive up to St. Elmo.

Oh we spent TWO HOURS feeding the chipmunks because Alex just so happens to be obsessed! Her smiles made it worth all the waiting.

Having those little creatures climb all over you and eat out of your hand is rather therapeutic!  So forgive me as I got about a million pictures.  Ha!

Cute little guys--they get those little cheeks so packed full of seeds it is crazy! Glutton, much?  Ha!

JR had some seeds on his belly and was trying to entice them to come up, but he gave up the idea before they did get a chance.

We finally peeled her away for some ice cream!

It was a lovely day.

OH, Hey--you don't look like a chipmunk!  Funny story--there is a sign hanging in the general store about "not feeding the black squirrel," and myself and a gentleman were joking that maybe the black squirrel ins't nice because of the sign telling everyone not to feed it.  Ha!

I got caught doing a selfie!  The guy in the background was laughing at me.  Ha!

Didn't get pooped on!  Bonus!

After St Elmo we went to Buena Vista for a beer at Jailhouse.  Fitting name don't you think?

& Eddy Line for Dinner and live music!

And another park trip after dinner to the Buena Vista park.

Coffee Sunday morning at the condo.  Coffee just tastes better when you are out of town.

& Brunch out.  Wonder why my pants are tight today--you may have to tilt your head to see this one.

Kids didn't complain much--went to a cute little Pancake house in Salida.

We had a nice weekend away and were happy to get back to Molly and Moses.
Received some updated pictures of Beckett!  He is a full blown toddler on the run. 16 months old now.  Amazing how fast time flies.

This week we have our back to school parents night for the kids, and nothing much more on schedule which is nice.
