Skipping over all the drama, Jeff and I decided to enroll the kids in a new school in District 20. We are very excited to find a school that is JUST opening this week, and is Project Based Learning--a first of its kind in District 20. So, we were busy last week getting it all lined up and making trips to the school for a tour, an open house, and two trips to the D20 enrollment office. Now we are all set and ready to go for their first day on Wednesday. No more board of directors for me! What am I going to do with all this spare time now? LOL.
Walking down the stairs caught these two reluctantly sharing a bed. Ha!

Look at all that grass! The last school had zero grass, and what play area the kids did have had a preschool built on top of it. This is nice--and a soccer field that was put in as a gift from the construction company. Field Days are going to be awesome!
The playground equipment is super sweet.
In the school they have all these "break out spaces." So that small projects can meet and step outside of the class room.
The principal has a microphone around his neck that the teachers will all be wearing so that everyone in the room will be able to hear. See those huge windows back behind him? The building was designed to allow as much natural light as possible, and the room lights will adjust automatically. So 2018!
The school has a really neat modern and hip vibe to it.

Friday night we went back to the school for Meet The Teacher night. Alex has a really sweet and young teacher named Ms. Sciacca (pronounced Shaka). She is the one in the middle with the red pants. The entire first grade only has 3 classes, vs 6 classes from RMCA.
JR's teacher is going to be Mr. Dahl. He has Star Wars stuff plastered everywhere in his class room and seems really nice. JR's first male teacher!

Saturday evening we had girl Rylee and her folks over for dinner. Didn't snap any pictures! Darn.
Sunday afternoon we took the kids to play mini golf down at the old course on Galley.
And went over to Dueces afterwards for a cold one.
We had a good weekend. This morning, Gavin and Gwyn made the trek across town to hang with us. Best buddies.
As I mentioned the kids start school on Wednesday, then we get to work on developing the next new routine. Life is good!
