Weekly Happenings

Last week was personally a cluster for me.  Super frustrated with work computer stuff, and spinning my wheels in the mud all week.  Glad it is over!  I did get to join a fun event on Thursday at UCCS, so that was nice.
& we finally got the mantle all pretty and decorated!


This is the group of ladies I joined for the STEM event at UCCS this past week. We did a thing called "Squishy Circuits," and led a two different groups of middle school girls from around the city. The event was developed to keep young females interested in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.  It was a nice break from the typical office day. Everyone below is a co-worker of mine, except for Jenny who has the long dark hair. 

On Friday morning, I got to participate in a beam-signing ceremony with Alex.  We all signed a beam that was placed for the new preschool and Kindy wing.  Pretty neat to be a part of it!


Since the new building is going to be the new Kindergarten wing, only the current Kindergartners were invited to sign the beam.

Oh! And Mr. Smarty Pants JR made Principal's list again.  We are so proud.

We re-did Alex's cape for 100 Days of School.  But, it turns out Alex will be missing it as we have decided to go see Devin this weekend in Texas.  She is in the hospital with a bacterial infection, and we found great rates for airfare out of COS. So we decided to go.  JR will also miss his field trip to the Butterfly Pavilion in Denver, but we felt it was necessary to go.

Alex went to Linkyn's birthday party on Saturday, so JR, Jeff and I went to the School Crossing and watched an AFA chemist do a chemistry show.  It was pretty neat!

On Saturday night, I got to have dinner and drinks with some new-ish friends of mine.  We ended up at two speakeasies and had ramen for dinner.  It was a fun time.

Sunday was the Super Bowl! Eagles vs the Patriots, and not many people from around these parts cared about either team.  We went to Jenny and Jose's house in Mantiou and watched the game. The kids just love their house! JR missed a $25 payout on squares when the Eagles missed an extra point field goal. So close, buddy!

As I mentioned, we are off to Texas EARLY on Thursday morning.  Our flight leaves at 6:15 am.  Molly and Moses will be in good hands with Ms. Rose.
