Hey! We are back on the health train with the New Year. Too much food and drink. So I kicked it off by making these healthy enchiladas. Yum!
We did have plans to go to our friend's house that live in Manitou for NYE, but they came down with an illness and had to cancel the party on the morning of New Years Eve. Poop! So we had no other plans to fall back on, and just winged it. Dinner out that night, and in bed by 11.
Earlier that morning, Alex's friend Taylor invited her and Gwyn to do a little shopping party at Target and Pizza for lunch. The girls each had $50 to spend on whatever they wanted. They had a great time.
Gwyn, Alex and Taylor!
The evening before, (this is weird going backwards), Angella and Jameson had two extra tickets to the CC Hockey game. So, JR and I joined them while Alex and Jeff had their own fun evening at home playing games and going to Mickey D's.
CC won with one minute left in the 3rd period. Was a great game!
Jeff and I got Friday the 29th to ourselves while the kids went to daycare. We went to the gym, and got a few things done around the house--and then went to Happy Hour.
Earlier that morning posing with Molly and Moses.
We had a good visit with Neil, Sharon, and Amanda. The kids really enjoyed hanging with them and playing "tag" with G-Daddy.
We spent one afternoon in Manitou and visited our Jenny and Jose's house so that everyone could see how cool it is. We ended up hanging out until midnight!
Super fun evening.
Molly and Moses picture opportunity!
Earlier that day in Manitou.
We went to The Loop for dinner.
The evening before...a little girl time in the hot tub!
G-Daddy and JR.
Dinner the night before at El Padrino. Seems all they want to do is eat Mexican food!
Christmas evening...
Mumsie and Moses.
Playing Go Fish with Aunt Manda.
Mom's (Grandma's) Chocolate Pie! Mmmm.
Christmas dinner was Honey Baked Ham with all the sides. I had a slight tummy bug that day, so I wasn't feeling all that great and wish I could have enjoyed the food more. I did enjoy some leftovers! Don was sick this year, so only Margaret joined us.
First dinner at our new dining room table in our new dining room!
Mmmmm.
Kids in front of the tree and JR being goofy.
All dressed up for dinner!
Opening presents Christmas morning. They were not disappointed in the loot!
A Fingerling from Mumsie (a popular toy this year).
Too much Christmas fun way too early (the kids were up at 6 am).
Alex got a Hatchimal (twins) that hatched almost immediately! Pretty cool little toy.
Minecraft Creeper!
Mr and Mrs. Right glasses.
Aunt Manda on Christmas morning.
Mosey wants to help unwrap!
Christmas loot!
Look what Santa brought!
Milk and Cookies for Santa.
Christmas Eve in front of the tree.
Alex was very curious about all the gifts.
The outtakes. LOL
On Christmas Eve they each got to open one present early. JR got a lava lamp!
They came in Christmas Eve morning. so we spent the afternoon watching the Cowboys play in the basement. Everyone all cuddled up on one couch!
We went out to lunch at Mod Market, and got a few cute pictures.
Photography by Alex.
The day before, we had a little Christmas brunch at the Wilson's house.
All the kids!
And decorated more cookies.
The evening before (the 22nd) we drove down to Canon City for our 3rd annual trip on the Santa Train. We had a good time, and the roads were great this year.
The North Pole. Hey Santa!
I made them try and recreate this same picture from 2015. Pretty close!
Jeff and I had the 21st to ourselves, so we kicked it off with breakfast at the little purple castle. King Chef! Mmmmm.
We also let the kids each decorate their own gingerbread houses this year. That was a good idea--a lot of work for me...but no fighting over design ideas!
Nice work kids! (and Mom).
We had a wonderful break. Looking forward to this year! Alex will be turning 6 in just a couple of weeks, and summer is around the corner. Right? Ha.
