We decided to go up to Denver on Sunday afternoon so that we could avoid having to wake up SUPER early to catch our flight out of Denver. Well. That backfired when JR woke up at 3:45 am and managed to keep me awake and wake up his sister as well. We were--exhausted. But! We made our 8:00 am flight just perfectly!
We got a private SUV transfer service. We stayed at the Paradisus Playa Del Carmen, and it was about 45 mins from Cancun. This one was falling asleep on the way to to the hotel.
When we arrived the kids were hooked up with hats, backpacks, t-shirts, toothbrushes, and robes and slippers.
As promised--JR was totally stoked with the mini bar stock!
We didn't hesitate to unpack, and change in to our swimsuits and grab some snacks.
The service at this resort was AMAZING compared to the place we went in July. Everyone was so friendly and nice, and they were on top of our every want and need. The kids were blown away.
This was the bridge to the beach where we spent about 25% of our time. Alex didn't care for the sand up her butt, so we were at the pool quite a bit.

And of course they ordered all the fruity sugary drinks!
And we buried Alex.

And the first night we decided to get room service. Alex was pretty content with spaghetti in her robe!
We ate at the breakfast buffet every morning. Lattes and Mimosas are something I got used to very quickly.
They had this amazing pond area that we would see every morning and watch the fish and the turtles come right over to us looking for food. You could practically call them over.
She could watch them all day.
The pool was great and it was the best time of year to visit. We practically had the place to ourselves.
JR ordered chocolate gelato poolside every afternoon.
Our concierge person was named Jonathan, and he was just amazing. He surprised the kids with so many little things that we all just fell in love. He was so warm and friendly it was hard not to love him!
And OUT. Hard to stay awake all day with so much fun.

Then, they got their own foam party later that afternoon when Jonathan surprised them again.
Yeah it got a little out of control! Ha!
Get it all in now kid, this will never happen in our tub at home! Ha!
That evening we talked the kids into doing "Kidz Zone" so that we could have a nice dinner just the two of us. It was amazing!
And we watched the traditional Mexican show with the kids after wards.

Our last night we did the hibatchi grill for dinner. Alex and JR were pretty impressed and the food was delicious. JR
Of course they ordered pizza and chicken fingers!
We watched the Michael Jackson show after dinner and it was a hoot! We got a picture with the performers. I made Jeff take one with me.
Friday morning we were not ready to go. We could have easily stayed another day or two. At least next year we know!
We were worried we weren't going to get to say goodbye to Jonathan, and there he was waiting for us as the golf cart dropped us off for our transfer service to the airport. I almost cried!
We had a smooth trip home and customs was easy peasy! Coming home on a Friday was also a smart choice as we had the weekend to get settled. Somebody missed me very much!
Saturday morning Gwyn and Gavin had a dual birthday party at Sky Zone.
We took it easy the rest of the weekend and caught up on things around the house.
This week the kids have Friday off of school, and we are doing Trick or Treating here at work on Friday, and the school Trunk or Treating on Saturday.
