Alex Turns 5!

Alex turned the BIG 5 on Friday!  The rest of the week prior to that was WINDY.  We even had the power go out at the office for 2.5 hours on Tuesday.
We all sang HBD to her and lit a candle in her donut!

She was surprised!

And a bigger surprise was me leaving work to go pick up her and Gwyn for a surprise lunch outing.  They had NO idea and Gwyn was beside herself that she got to come with us.  I let them choose where they wanted to go eat...and they picked Mickey D's!  They were giggling and smiling the entire time--I didn't want to take them back to school.

Alex's new Kindy class celebrated with afternoon root beer floats, and we met mom and dad for dinner at Pizza Time.  Can we say birthday food overload?  Ugh!

Alex got a wad of cash from Grandma and Grandpa. Can you tell by her face? Ha!


And here you see JR swiping a $20 and trying to take off with it and head towards the coin machine for the arcade games.  Funny kid!

And Saturday afternoon we held Alex's Birthday party celebration at Precizion 509 Gymnastics (same  place we held it last year).    The kids had a blast running around for an hour, and then we did pizza and cake and presents in the party room.

She wanted a "zoo cake" but we didn't have much luck with the options Kings had. So I just bought the little toppers and we improvised with cupcakes.  It worked!

We had a great time celebrating the love for our little girl with mom and dad, and quite a few of our friends.  Alex had a great birthday.

And Sunday afternoon we had a pool party birthday for Alexa who was turning 8!  The kids splashed around in the YMCA pool for an hour, and then had more cake and pizza!

Alex has her well exam on Wednesday, and thank goodness she isn't due for any vaccinations.  This weekend we are headed to Great Wolf Lodge with the Loomis Family.  The kids are excited, and we are looking forward to it also.
