We did manage to capture a tasty lunch and a beer at DIA (which was nice considering we didn't get to eat dinner that evening).
Breakfast the next day at the hotel before our appointments: Mmmmmm!
And here we are! Our appointments went great. Nothing was uncomfortable and everyone was super nice and friendly. My first nurse was named...Andi! And turns out she also has a mother named Bobbie! AND--we ran into another couple from Colorado Springs who was at Shady Grove with the same agenda we had for the day. The lady who took my blood thought it was odd that she had NEVER noticed a Colorado Driver's License before--and then had two come through within the hour. I knew I recognized her in the waiting room through a Colorado Surrogate Facebook Group we are both a part of. We couldn't believe it!
After all of our appointments Jeff and I went to lunch, and then the little cupcake shop right by our hotel. Our hotel was in an AMAZING location. Super close walking distance to so many neat shops and restaurants--A Target! And a Dick's! We were in heaven!
Lilly Magilly's cupcake shop was divine! We NEED to go back.
And the weather was just beautiful.

Awesome little area right on a pond and the weather was in the high 60's, low 70's the entire time we were there.
Meanwhile--back in Colorado. Everyone was preparing for SNOW! Man did we time our trip nicely. Ms. Shannon captured this photo of Ms. Nikki and the kids leaving after school one day. Ms. Nikki did a FANTASTIC job. We got to speak to the kids every evening and they had a great time.
Jeff and I got a long nap in, and then had a wonderful time at Union Jacks and eat an amazing crab cake and fillet dinner at a local place called Coastal Flatts. It was great!
The next morning we woke up and had some breakfast--and then got an Uber car to Park City right outside of DC. We checked into our hotel--and then we were off on the Metro to head to the Mall area to visit some of the museums.

And of course we hired the best hair braider it is:
First stop was National Museum of American History. The only one with a 45 minute line to get in! Of course!
We really enjoyed looking around--all very interesting. The Hope Diamond:
We got hungry so we ended up bailing a little earlier than we wanted--and popped into the Natural History Museum and got to see the dinosaur fossils:
Then we were off to the Air and Space Museum. It was REALLY cool.

It was very cool to see all of the space gear and we could honestly spend a week there and still not be able to see it all. So very cool! We decided we needed to wait to take the kids back there with us--the young ones we witnessed melting down all of the place was proof!

So we headed down to close to China Town and had another delicious dinner of more crab cakes and crab bisque and wine! Mmmmmm.
Chinatown wasn't all that impressive--not anything like the one in New York.
WE did get to peak in on the Capitals playing during their play-off game--walked right by the Verizon Center. Pretty cool!
I was so amazed with the underground Metro system. So efficient and easy to understand. Very clean and safe. So cool!
Meanwhile on Sunday--Nikki took the kids to little Laiken's Birthday Party. It was a pancake party and the kids had a great time.

We got back around 8 pm Sunday night--just in time to give the kids the sugar we bought them, and send them to bed! We had such a wonderful trip together--it was so nice to have some alone time and the appointments at Shady Grove all went really well. We are happy to be home--and are off to Estes Park for a company work trip this weekend. The weather should be nice--and we are looking forward to a little family getaway (or at least the kids and I am--LOL).
