Weekly Update

Yes. We ate a lot of ice cream this past weekend. Hey! It's summer. Don't judge! Ha.

We celebrated our Anniversary last Tuesday evening with Mom and Dad and the kids at Texas Roadhouse.  Lots of Love!

We finally got to enjoy not one...but TWO back-to-back nights out and about after dinner last week.  On Thursday evening we cut it a little close with the rain...but managed to squeak right on by and missed the down pour by 22 seconds.
This silly girl is starting to get a lot of her "goofy" from her big brother:

Loves taking pictures on rocks...

Don't mind the El Paso County Coroner's Truck in the background...

Silly Selfie time! Molly and Moses also got to join us both evenings. They loved it!

Molly decided she wanted to try the slide:

This pretty girl has lost 4.5 pounds since Last November and is acting more like a pup than ever before.  10 years old on Friday!

JR and Alex got to visit the Space Symposium last week.  Angella tagged along with the Kindy class, so she was able to send me some pictures of JR enjoying his field trip.  Apparently...the local news was there and JR and his buddies made the evening news...although I still have yet to see the footage:

Holding the rockets they made:

We had been promising JR all week long that we would go to Yo Yogurt.  So here we are on Friday night!

On Saturday the kids had soccer in the morning.  We all took nice naps, and then dropped the kids off with Shawn and Larissa so that Jeff and I could have dinner alone. Aren't we spoiled? There is nothing like a nice quiet dinner just him and I! We went to PF Changs...where one of our first dates took place back in July of 2004.  We were laughing about how quiet that dinner was...and how I was thinking "Hmmmm...doooo be do be doooooo."  Good thing I pushed past that super boring date 11 years ago! On THIS date night...we had plenty to talk and reminisce about. It was great.

Alex was having fun playing dress up with Gwyn:

Hahahah:\

We had a great evening out, and the kids had just as much fun as we did.
On Sunday morning we decided to pack up and head to Calhan for the El Paso County Fair.  It was...hot.  And a little slow at first.  And we had two whiny children who wanted to do nothing but ride the rides that were (ahem) about $5 a pop EACH.  Ummmm....NO.  Our friends met us shortly after we arrived and we ended up enjoying ourselves.

JR got to walk on water in a giant bubble.  I asked how much air was in one of the bubbles, and I was reassured it was enough to last 35 minutes.  He had a blast.

Watching "The Bird Man" was definitely a highlight.  Jeff and Alex missed most the show as they were hanging out with the sea lions.

They did get to ride the train around the fair!

And after lunch...we headed out before the storms rolled in.
Done.

And Done.

Since it was "National Ice Cream Day" we decided to take a journey to Baskin Robbins.  This one picked out a clown cone (my all time childhood favorite):

Best time to take pictures of your children. When they are eating!

And of course she ended up wearing most of it:

We discovered JR was famous this morning! Again!  He made a picture in the local Gazette while watching the bird show yesterday. That's twice in one week!

We are going to the annual Sky Sox game tomorrow night put on by my friend Mark Rudolph.   Alex has her FIRST Dentist appointment with Dr Palmer on Thursday afternoon.  Not much planned for the weekend but continuing to enjoy summer before school starts for JR in...3.5 weeks!
