Alex's 3rd Birthday Party!

So this little cutie started PRESCHOOL last week! Woot! She went over to her new "Big Girl Class" every morning for a few hours, and then when given the choice to go back to the "Two's Room" she would go back to nap and spend the rest of the afternoon over there. She did this Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. BUT! She wasn't given the choice on Thursday and Friday...and she did EXCELLENT in Ms. Coleen's class! Friday morning drop off was one of the smoothest drop-offs it has ever been...and today was EVEN better. WE all think she is adjusting way better than we all could have guessed.

She is also THREE...TOMORROW!!!

She has also taken up an evening routine of playing games on the iPad and snuggling with Molly and Moses. Pretty cute!

On Friday night...Alex and Mom were busy baking cake and cupcakes. Mom got quite a bit of "help" from the Birthday Girl.

Saturday morning...icing the cakes and cupcakes also received quite a bit of attention!


The Peppa Pig Kit Kat cake was chocolate cake with fudge icing.  The cupcakes were chocolate cake with a purple vanilla and some with a chocolate fudge icing.  Can you tell?  LOL


Alex helped Mom sprinkle all the cupcakes and add the final touches. Saturday before Alex's Birthday party was a little hectic trying to get it all done!


But they did it! And we were all very happy with the results! Ta Dah!!!

Alex's 3rd Birthday part was at Little Monkey Bizness! It was SUPER busy that morning. WAAAY too many people...and Alex wasn't having much of it. She wouldn't leave Mom or Dad's side and really didn't want to venture very far to play. We still think she enjoyed herself. She said she had fun!

So we all played for an hour, and had 30 minutes in the party room.  Just enough time for pizza and cake.  So...when we got home...guess who wanted to dig into all the Birthday Presents IMMEDIATELY?

What was leftover from the cake and cupcakes.  Not much!

Alex got a really cool Melissa and Doug Medical Kit.  She loves it and really enjoyed practicing her medical skills on me all afternoon:

After presents, Alex and I took nice long naps.  We woke up and played around the house all afternoon and took it easy.

On Sunday...we stayed in pretty much all day and found stuff to entertain us.  The Broncos and The Cowboys both lost their playoff games, so Mom and Dad both cried.


This morning we woke up to SNOW!!  Lot's of it, too.



Tomorrow is Alex's official 3rd Birthday.  She is going to make "dirt" cups in her new preschool class, and we are going somewhere special for dinner tomorrow night. Either Chuck E Cheese or ITZ. Nobody can seem to decide!  Besides the 3rd Birthday, not much else is going on this week!

Devin Update:  Devin has been in the hospital for a few days now.  She has quite a bit going on, but she seems to be on the mend now that they have her pain under control.  We get to find out on the 26th if she will need any radiation, or if the cancer is 100% gone.
