Memorial Day in Texas!

Tons of pictures coming!  We had a wonderful trip to Texas last week.  Got to meet Lili, and see lots of Devin.  We were able to chill and relax and get some good pool time in, and we easily could have stayed another day or two. Smooth travel on both ends of the trip, and we couldn't have asked for a better Memorial Day Weekend!

Packing with these two!  Packing is SO much easier these days vs when the kids were smaller.  They require a lot less.

Zonked out on the way to the airport.

JR has taken up the habit of looking on the ground wherever we go, and this includes looking under things.  You would be amazed at what he finds.  I think he found over $1 in change in the security line alone.  Pretty funny.

Excited to be in Texas!  Oh, and flying Southwest was WAY awesome. The staff is super friendly and we really enjoyed it.

First thing on the agenda was meeting the family at their favorite little Tex Mex place near Love Field.  Mumsie!

Aunt Amanda!

And first thing the next morning the kids were in the pool.

JR trying on Aunt Amanda's boots waiting for Devin, Roy, and Lili to arrive.

And again...he kept getting in to her boots.

Checking out Lili and Lili checking out us.  It was great to get some snuggles in and finally get to meet her.

She really enjoyed watching the ceiling fan. They became BFF's.

Pappy and Lili.  I think that is what Jeff is going with...

Grandie holding LIli!

And too much fun.

We drove out to Lake Kiowa for my very first crawfish boil.  Those little boogers were interesting.  Not my favorite--popping the heads off of them--but not the worst thing I have ever tried.  We had a great time hanging out, making new friends, and driving around in golf carts.  Such a cool little community.

Mumsie making JR smile.  Ha!

I loved the shrimp and Brussels sprouts!

They had TONS flown in.  It was quite the event!

And quite the patio!  This was a private residence of folks that are friends with Sharon and Neil.

And it was HUMID! And HOT!

Another one of their friends had a beautiful property on the lake.  Man I wouldn't mind spending some time here!

Beautiful.

And they had...kittens.  So it was hard to say goodbye!

The kids on the beach.

Getting ready for a ride.

I got to feed Lili lots of bottles.

The next morning we met Pat and Adrian for brunch.  It was great being able to catch up with them and visit for a bit.

The kids were in the pool every chance they got.  Especially Alex!

Chillin with Aunt Manda!

Pretty girl!

Later that afternoon--they must have been waking up SUPER early.  They would just get up and watch cartoons and let us sleep--and then crash out in the afternoons.  I think they had a great time.

This one conked out too! Look at those cheeks!

And we made it safely home on Wednesday afternoon.  Alex and JR passed out on the shuttle to get the car.  That was a first--considering that is one bumpy and noisy trip.

And I spent the evening meal-prepping!  Mexico is next week and I have some baby weight to lose!

Molly's FOOT.

This past weekend was packed!  I got a couple rounds in at the gym, and the kids got to bowl, do swimming lessons, a birthday party, and a movie!

Alex did GREAT! This is her 12 minutes in to her first lesson--floating unassisted.  WE are so proud of her.  JR on the other hand is still not a fan.  The instructor flipped him so that he could come up to a back float, and after that he was D-O-N-E.  And he told me he would rather drown than go back to another lesson.  Wonder where he gets his drama from.  Ha!

Cammi turned 5! So we got to celebrate with her with some more pool time.

After the party we met our friends at the movies to see Captain Underpants.  JR said it was the funniest movie he has ever seen.  I wasn't sure what to expect--but found my self giggling quite a bit.  It was pretty good!

Posing for the moms with all their camera phones.  Ha!

These two silly girls get to spend one last summer together at daycare before Gwyn moves on to grade school.  They sure are going to miss each other.

This week Jeff and I have the board meeting tonight at MacKenzies downtown, so the kids are going to hang with Grandma and Grandpa.   We have a family beer festival we are headed to for the 2nd year this Saturday, and more swimming lessons on Sunday.
